Save Our Arches - Guardians of the ArchesNetwork Rail are selling the entire estate of railway arches and public land to a private investor by end August 2018. In advance of this sale, small businesses are being crippled by impossible rent demands and we need your urgent help to petition Chris Grayling to stop this sale, save our Arches and safeguard our small businesses across the UK. We must act now, once the sale takes place the public land will be gone and it will be too late.12 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Eleni Jones

A Place of Sanctuary - Right Care, Right Time, Right PlaceWhat’s the problem? Nationally, mental health services are in crisis. Southwark Pensioners Action Group (SPAG) supports the campaign to open a Place of Sanctuary at the Maudsley Hospital, Denmark Hill site. Kings A&E feels like an awful place to be if you are having a mental health crisis because in a busy, hectic sometimes aggressive reception area alongside those with broken limbs or other physical trauma. It’s feels even worse if you are a child, a young person, a pregnant woman or a mum with a baby 60% of young people turning up in crisis are not known to mental health services for children and young people The significant increase in knife crime since January 2018 means Kings A&E is under huge pressure What do we want? A 24 hour walk-in Place of Sanctuary at the Maudsley Hospital Denmark Hill site for those in mental health crisis. Especially for Children and Young People, and Pregnant Women, Mothers with Babies in mental health crisis Mental health money must reach the frontline No more cuts to Children and Young Peoples’ mental health services in or out of hospital Why? Kings A&E is not a Place of Sanctuary for people who need emergency mental health treatment Excellent crisis care saves lives Our children, pregnant mums and mothers with young babies deserve far better emergency mental health services What time is it?? It’s TIME for the South London and Maudesley Hospital Trust to step up It’s TIME for the Trust to provide a 24 hour walk in Place of Sanctuary at Denmark Hill It’s TIME for the Trust to pull its weight for those in mental health crisis Who can do it? You can by signing this petition 59 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Cathy Deplessis

Stop financially penalising disabled parentsThe children are required to buy a ticket simply because the parent is entitled to a government bus pass (offering free travel for the parent with some reimbursement for the bus company from the government for it's use) due to their disability. There are strict criteria to get a pass and it is supposed to be part of opening up opportunity for those living with disability. If the parent is simply having to pay a child fare instead of their own there is only a 30% reduction in cost instead of the 100% policy intended. It is discriminatory to be charging disabled parents a fare that a parent with no disability would not have to pay. It risks isolating disabled people further and marginalising their children who often already have many disadvantages in life. I am only able to work part time due to my health needs so we along with many others have financial difficulties as a family. Many people with disability depend upon the buses far more than those who are able bodied as they may be unable to safely drive or be mobile over short distances. I myself am dependent upon bus use to get to the shops to buy food, get to GP and hospital appointments as well as taking my daughter to baby and toddler groups. My daughter is an integral part of my life, I have very little support to care for her and I am scared that a reduction in my ability to be mobile due to unfair charges will impact on the life I am able to offer her.9 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Rosie Smith

Clean Air Day 2018 - Making West Midlands Transport Fit for the FutureThe 21st June is National Clean Air Day, when children and adults across the West Midlands are pledging to walk, cycle and raise awareness of the effects of air pollution. As you know, all member authorities of the WMCA have areas which exceed legal limits of nitrogen dioxide. Evidence shows that such exposure reduces lung growth, contributes to long term ill health and can cause premature death. We hope that National Clean Air Day will reduce pollution on the day, but more importantly it is an opportunity to focus on the future. The single largest source of nitrogen dioxide in many areas is diesel cars, and in this region more than most this is due to a car dependency faced by many households. For too many people public transport, walking and cycling do not feel safe or practical. Road congestion damages our health, economy and communities, and the current dependence on cars is unsustainable with a growing population. Meanwhile, cars contribute to many of the other health challenges we face. Among these, the West Midlands has some of the highest childhood obesity rates in the country, and the lowest rates of physical activity - both would improve if children felt safe to walk and cycle. Sedentary lifestyles are closely linked to car use and contribute to major illnesses such as diabetes, heart disease and depression. The combined authority includes areas which already have some of the poorest health outcomes in the country. If the West Midlands is to grow inclusively the opportunity for health must be available to all residents, with clean air, safe roads, and well-connected transport.51 of 100 SignaturesCreated by West Midlands Clean Air Day

Demand Walkers Produce Fully Recyclable Packaging Before 2025I contacted Walkers regarding this, to which they replied that they’re “working tirelessly to tackle waste challenges and are committed to 100% recyclable, compostable or biodegradable packaging by 2025”. But as they already have compostable packs made from potato skins and discards, why will it take another 7 years to produce recyclable packs? The Walkers factory in Leicester produce 7,000,000 packets of crisps every DAY and sell 60,000,000 every WEEK! That’s over 20 BILLION crisp packets that will go to landfill before their target date of 2025. This is simply unacceptable.143 of 200 SignaturesCreated by Emma Ho-Shing

Mandatory training in ALL areas of domestic abuse for Family courts &CafcassIt is vital for victims and children’s voices to be heard, supported and truly understood. Only then can informed decisions be made for the people involved and safety be paramount. This is sadly not happening currently and the statistics continue to grow. Please see latest report on family courts and domestic abuse conducted by the APPG inquiry https://www.naccc.org.uk/downloads/NewsItems/APPG_Inquiry_report_Domestic_Abuse_Child_Contact_and_the_Family_Court.pdf We need to unite and help stamp out abuse and suport the victims and children when they need it the most.
