Hold Trump To Account On Charlottesville CommentsPresident Trump made comments saying there are 'good people' on the side of the white supremacists in Charlottesville, effectively condoning racism, prejudice, violence, hatred and the neo-Nazis. This is immoral, unjust, dangerous, and wrong, and echoes sentiments last expressed by a major world leader in the 1930's - and they must be condemned. He must take responsibility for his comments, and we must petition our world leaders to hold him to account.3 of 100 SignaturesCreated by James Prescott

Believe in a brighter futurePlease take your time and read this all my own research here all to do with the British legal system how it clearly fails ex prisoners like myself 😯. In Britain there are 82,056 prisoners and a total off 59% off them will re offend in the first 12 months😢. There is a total off 150 active prisons in Britain today😮. The government are complaining about the over crowding off them now 9% off these prisoners are in for petty crime shop lifting breach of the peace ect😔 yet there are supposed to be other ways to deal with this community pay back order and so on but these people are receiving custodial sentences what then leads them to be institutionalised that leads to them again re offending🙇. There are no support networks in place to help people in Britain with this that's where re offending comes in to play. You can get help with offending behaviour from sacro if your under the age off 18 only (5%) but if your over the age off reabilitaition the governments own words you don't get the proper support😒. Now what am getting at is that the only way off bringing down the population in prison is to put positive appropriate sensible measures in place and that's having a support network in place 24 hours a day 7 days a week instead off using all the government funds on idiotic projects🙊 a tried my best to get this to make sense for you guys to see what am getting at here so a hope you get my point🙏10 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Stephen Mcgettigan

Safer city cycling. And towns too! This makes use of the paths that are already in place alongside most roads in towns and cities. Generally each road has two paths. For example the north to south path could be for pedestrians, the south to north for bicycles. More zebra crossings would be required to allow people to get to their side of the road. Side roads exiting onto main roads would need ’stop' signs rather than ’give way’ signs to ensure the safety of cyclists and pedestrians. The onus should be on the cars to stop as they are the ’stronger’ vehicles, can start and stop more readily and are the more dangerous in every sense. It would subtly shift the emphasis away from the cars dominion. Perceived danger deters people from cycling. From personal health to environmental issues, the fewer cars compared to pedestrians and cyclists there are the better. Why continue the way we are? There are so many issues to face, this is a small step in the right direction, it would not be costly to implement and could revolutionise the roads for us all. https://www.theguardian.com/environment/2017/aug/04/fewer-cars-not-electric-cars-beat-air-pollution-says-top-uk-adviser-prof-frank-kelly The attached article, courtesy of Guardian News & Media Ltd, argues that we need less cars of all types (including electric) on the roads: “Prof Frank Kelly said that while electric vehicles emit no exhaust fumes, they still produce large amounts of tiny pollution particles from brake and tyre dust, for which the government already accepts there is no safe limit. …Toxic air causes 40,000 early deaths a year in the UK" Time for a change.3 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Kate Chamberlain

Reduce council tax for flat dwellers who are paying the same, or more, as people living in housesI pay band B council tax in Trafford. I live in a two bedroomed flat. It is highly noisy with traffic on one side of the building. I have no garden. I am allocated less space for all types of refuse, as people living in houses, who are paying either the same council tax band as me, or, even less.5 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Elaine Savage

Stop selling 'Disposable' POWER HIT chargers. The Power HIT one-time-use 'disposable' phone charger, a new product owned by the 'Solent Group'. are now being sold around the UK. At £3 a piece, these chargers have a great appeal and seem to be a useful product. However they could have a potentially devastating impact on the environment. Marketed as 'Disposable', these chargers contain electronics, including a rechargable lithium ION battery, which are harmful to the environment and should not be sent to landfill. Such use of these batteries is wasteful. They contain resources of which there is a finite amount, and recycling of these batteries could cut down on carbon emissions. Ontop of that, they contain plastics and other materials which are not bio-degradable. This means it could take thousands of years for these materials to break down. This is harmful to wildlife and our ecology. Please sign my petition to stop this product, and others like it, from being sold around the UK.39 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Emil Carr

childrens act 1989Because we need parental right to allow grandparents to be able to get it in the same way as same sex parents or step parents. Neither of these are blood relatives. There are over 200.000 grandparents bringing up one or more grandchildren in the UK. We have to go to court to seek permission for a residence order or special guardianship order to also gain parental rights. It can take months and months instead of a trip to local court with downloaded form witnessed by a notary. It all needs to be brought into 2017. The Children's Act is to protect children and this isn't. I have my grandson due to his mothers death and mother and fathers substance abuse. I have no legal rights for my grandson. This all needs to change.121 of 200 SignaturesCreated by Tina Holt

Improve the conditions for EU-bound migrants in Libyan 'detention' centresEach night, hundreds of migrants board smuggler owned rubber dinghies to take the perilous journey from Libya to Europe. These migrants either: a) Drown in the Mediterranean sea, as the dinghies are not built to support the long, dangerous journey, packed to the brim with migrants. b) Arrive in Italy where they not currently permitted to be. c) Are caught by Libyan coast guards who transport them back to Libya to be put in 'detention' centres. These detention centres are awful places, in which many human rights are broken. Migrants eat, sleep and live on crowded floors where they do not have enough space to move around. UK prisons have far better living conditions than those in Libyan 'Detention Centres', yet these migrants are innocent people. One lady interviewed by Ross Kemp, in his Extreme World series said that she received no hospital care when giving birth and was instead left to give birth in the toilet. The migrants in these centres are often fleeing war torn countries and are now living in conditions worse than they have left. They have no contact with the outside world, so they are left to live out their days in these awful places. Article 5 of the Human Rights Act, Right to liberty and security, is clearly being broken. From the following quote: "Given its role in the conflict and subsequent destabilisation in Libya, the UK has a particular responsibility in relation to migrants and refugees, an issue which has been exacerbated by the collapse of the Libyan state. " (Paragraph 105 of https://publications.parliament.uk/…/cms…/cmfaff/119/119.pdf) It is clear that the UK government agrees with its own responsibility to help these migrants. But what an earth is being done about it? Ideally, I think one the solutions should be: For all countries that are unwilling to accept these migrants to contribute to the creation of 'peace centres'. 'Peace centres' would strive to provide a bed for each migrant within Libya whilst being sustainable in ensuring that migrants can get back to their home countries. Sustainability would be achieved by having an on site lawyers office who will fight to get these people back to their home countries and by allowing residents to work within the centre, by doing chores to support the upkeep of the centre, all of which would be paid work. There will also be education to prevent these people from getting on boats again as it is a risk to their money, safety and well being. By signing this petition, we can encourage the UK government and other EU countries to do more to improve conditions within Libyan migrant detention centres.21 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Jodie Hemsill
