  • Close tax loopholes being exploited by large corporations
Small and medium-sized businesses in the UK are paying a disproportionate amount of tax, which is manifestly unfair. In addition, the Austerity measures and severe cuts to public services would be unnecessary, if this revenue were collected.

  • Hold A Referendum On the Decision To bomb Syria
As a Christian myself, although I have served in HM Forces, I do not believe that we should exacerbate a situation which even Mr Blair has grudgingly admitted, has been caused by the previous wrong decision to go to war in Iraq. We as a supposedly civilised nation should get back to our Christian and Diplomatic roots and strive for peace.

  • Re-open the Liverpool Loop Line railway line
In peak times the roads in Liverpool can get congested and in some places there are bottlenecks. This railway line, if re-opened, could relieve congestion on Liverpool roads. New stations could be built or rebuilt at: For the Old Liverpool Loop Line: New stations could be opened at: Gateacre, Childwall, Knotty Ash and Stanley*, West Derby*, Clubmoor, Warbreck and Aintree (New Platform at existing station). *Platforms are still extant. For the Canada Dock Branch: New station be opened at: Edge Lane, Stanley (for the Stanley Market), Tuebrook (for the Tuebrook Market), Breck Road, new station known as Liverton, which is a combination of Liverpool and Everton FC station or two separate stations each for both the football stadia; and also a new station at Spellow and new platforms at Kirkdale and Bootle, which would be the terminus, unless through running to Southport from Edge Hill Station's bay platforms still extant. *Platforms are still extant. Instead of pontificating about the expansion of Merseyrail, which the authorities seem to be doing a lot of, this petition is to get the various bodies, such as the Merseyside Integrated Transport Authority and Network Rail, who still owns the trackbed of Liverpool Loop Line, should get something rolling about and bring it back into operation. Presently, SusTrans - Sustainable Transport - provides a network of cycle paths on the former railway line cutting, as part of the Trans-Pennine Trail. The problem is with Merseyside ITA is that it seems to be pontificating over what could be a very good railway network for Merseyrail, but while these authorities are trying to make up their mind whether or not to implement or to deploy the re-opening of these railway line to passenger services, the cost of bringing such projects back into operational use would have escalated and that's probably one of the reasons why these authorities won't go ahead with this. This has happened with the Merseytram project, which has had to be shelved due to escalating costs. Since 1992, the Manchester Metrolink System has knocked spots off Merseyrail. Why? Because: 1) You can get to a cricket match at Trafford; 2) You can get to football matches at both Manchester United and Manchester City football stadia; 3) You get to Manchester Airport; 4) You can visit the Tate Art Gallery and the Imperial War Museum at Salford Quays; 5) BBC and ITV television staff use the trams to get to MediaCity; 6) The Manchester Metrolink utilises the old British Rail routes from Manchester Victoria to Altrincham, Bury, Oldham and Rochdale. With the Merseyrail System, there is decent rail link to Liverpool John Lennon Airport, which could have been factored in to when Liverpool South Parkway was being built!!! In Liverpool, football fans have to take a train from Liverpool Central to Sandhills, then board a double decker bus, what is known locally as a Soccerbus, which is run by Arriva, to take these fans to their respective Liverpool and Everton football matches.

  • A curriculum to prepare us all for life?
We believe that the place of citizenship education and PSHE in the curriculum should be radically overhauled through a youth-led UK-wide review; they are really important for young people’s growth and development as they teach vital life skills and can be the first steps to engaging young people in political life. Teaching staff should be specifically trained to a national standard to deliver citizenship education following this review. A curriculum to prepare us for life is important to the many young people in the united Kingdom, during the UKYP national debate at the house of commons this came in as the top 5 priority to deal with and as a DMYP i will make sure that there education prepares them for life hence the title 'curriculum to prepare us for life' this will hopefully if successful allow students to gain access to an education that will include things such as: • Political Education • Sex and Relationships Education • Cultural Awareness Education • Community Cohesion Education • Finance Skills Education • Sustainable Living Education • Citizenship Education If you want to know more visit the link below: http://www.ukyouthparliament.org.uk/campaign/curriculum-life/

  • Open Halstead Church to the Homeless for Winter
This redundant Anglican church is empty and not used for religious ceremonies. In the face of continuing "austerity" more and more people are facing a cold winter on the streets. The Church can afford to open this church in an act of Christian goodwill over the winter months. Please help to get the Churches Conservation Trust to open their doors.

  • Open up empty buildings in BARKING AND DAGENHAM
To plead to the Council to open its empty buildings to the homeless in winter. I cannot imagine sleeping rough in driving, biting winds, snow, ice and winter rain. It's inhumane. It's also inexcusable when we have so many empty buildings.

  • Online Election Voting
Many folk now live their lives around the internet and it would certainly involve more of the younger end of society in our democracy, who after all have a voice on the future of our country. An online voting system would surely produce a more accurate reflection of all the population.

  • Santander - Stop Banking on the Bomb
Santander currently invests $1,675 million (US) in nuclear weapons. * Of the weapons of mass destruction that humankind has been confronted with, we have succeeded in outlawing biological and chemical weapons. Yet we have still to ban nuclear weapons although we know that it is the most destructive weapon invented so far. There are companies driving the industry and if the investment funds for them are cut off we will have struck a blow for a nuclear weapon free world. Financial institutions, by adopting public policies prohibiting investment in the nuclear weapons industry, actively demonstrate the stigma associated with these weapons of mass destruction. Institutions can and do decide to ban investments in the nuclear weapon industry, and that policies in the financial sector are an important contribution to the global debate on nuclear weapons. * From - http://www.dontbankonthebomb.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/11/2015_Report_web.pdf
