Save Our Ponds - Hampstead HeathThe Women’s, Men’s and Mixed bathing ponds on Hampstead Heath are world-renowned gems for wild swimming – cherished by a large and diverse community who swim in all seasons and across the decades to maintain mental and physical health. Some people come in search of quiet solitude in nature; others for community, solace or sanctuary. The unique setting, atmosphere and inclusive ethos of the bathing ponds are threatened by the City of London Corporation’s decision to impose compulsory charges and use intrusive technology. The Corporation has replaced voluntary payments of £2 (£1 concession) with compulsory tickets that cost £4.00 (£2.40 concession). Many pond users have previously contributed to a donation-based system but support the fight to oppose compulsory charging because it will destroy the inclusive and diverse pond community. At a time of unprecedented health and financial emergencies, and when inequality is an urgent social concern, it is wrong for the Corporation to demand payment.8,777 of 9,000 SignaturesCreated by Forum '71 SOP

Stop Unfair Policing of Black Lives MatterEight race hate crimes are reported every day in Northern Ireland. Black Lives Matter protesters last month took a huge stand against racism, and now the PSNI is punishing them for it. The news is full of reports and controversy on illegal gatherings, which are again threatening the chance of a stable government here. However it’s clear that the only group being punished through the hastily approved enforcement powers under Health Protection (Coronavirus, Restrictions) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2020 are those standing up for racial justice. The law they are being punished for was given enforcement powers at 11pm the night before the Black Lives Matter protests on the 6th June. Amnesty International have called it 'bad law' which effectively criminalises any protest the PSNI wish to target. https://caj.org.uk/2020/06/16/amnesty-and-caj-raise-concerns-over-laws-restricting-protest-ahead-of-assembly-debate/245 of 300 SignaturesCreated by Nicola Browne

Save Whiteinch Burgh HallFormerly housing Whiteinch Police Station and Whiteinch Fire Station, the 1894 building was last used as a social work and community centre, but has lain derelict since 2002. The Burgh Hall has an unusual and unique style. The architectural language of the Burgh Hall can be seen elsewhere in other Scottish buildings of the period, with an Italian renaissance influence. The building bears the coat of arms of the Burgh of Partick, only becoming part of the City of Glasgow 1912. The building has received essential and remedial repairs in previous years, including roof repairs, stonework repairs, removal of vegetation and general maintenance. In total, over £18,000 has been spent over these years with the works aimed at ensuring public safety, securing the building and keeping the building wind and watertight by City Property Glasgow.1,424 of 2,000 SignaturesCreated by Màiri MacDonald

End the exploitation of garment workersWorkers in clothing factories in the UK are being exposed to unsafe working conditions, and wages as low as £3 an hour. It is illegal to earn less than minimum wage in the UK - and we have laws and workers’ rights in place that should protect all of us at work. But right now they are not properly enforced - which means workers are put at risk. This needs to change. If the government commits to improving the enforcement of UK labour laws, we can set a level playing field that ensures decent jobs, safe conditions and fair wages for everyone. Sign the petition to up the pressure now.6,615 of 7,000 Signatures

Free NHS parking indefinitelyThe government stopped charging NHS staff parking fees during the height of the pandemic. Now they're saying ‘it can’t go on forever’. We need a firm commitment to make absolutely sure our NHS staff won’t be charged as much as £40 a day on parking fees. Our NHS staff - who have sacrificed so much over the last few months - deserve better. So, let's send a clear message to Boris Johnson: you cannot charge our NHS staff for parking.88,367 of 100,000 SignaturesCreated by Sue

Help Local Dog Boarders Reduce Barking Mad Licence FeesWe are micro-businesses and sole traders offering a very special, home-from-home, dog boarding experience for dog lovers. We are not massive kennel operators, yet the license fee doesn’t differentiate, and we are being asked to pay exactly the same fee as a Commercial Kennels. There are more than 110 micro businesses and sole traders across the Joint Public Protection Partnership area who may now be forced to close as a direct consequence of this license fee increase. We desperately don’t want to close because we are all passionate about the dogs we take care of and we pride ourselves in offering a unique boarding experience for our clients and their dogs. As an example of the license increase we are facing: for the financial years 2018 - 20, the Bracknell Forest renewal licence fee was £119 per annum. From this year (2020-21), the Joint Public Protection Partnership increased the fee by a massive 375% to a total of £570 per annum. The fine laid down by DEFRA, for failing to obtain a licence, is set at £500 which is less than the total cost of renewal! Such a large increase cannot be considered fair or justified and, is contrary to the principle that local government is there to help and support local businesses thrive. There was no consultation process with us as home boarding providers, and the Joint Public Protection Partnership did not provide affected businesses with any prior notification of the license fee increases. Many home boarding providers have a very low turnover, and are already struggling with a downturn in bookings caused by the Covid-19 pandemic; a significant number will be unable to pay. They will either be forced to cease trading or have to increase their prices considerably to cover this huge increase. And this is why it affects us all! Please sign this petition and help us to prevent this from happening.1,329 of 2,000 SignaturesCreated by Karen Fleck

Cycle tracks in FarnhamFarnham has worse air pollution than 97% of British towns, plus serious road and car park congestion threatening the viability of Farnham's shops. Worse still, air pollution now kills more people than smoking. Getting people out of cars and onto bikes can help with all of these problems.711 of 800 SignaturesCreated by peter Goodman
