Homes not Hotels! Demand mandatory data sharing by short term lets companiesIt's been revealed that 1 in 50 homes in London are now holiday lets, meaning families and those working in the capital are being forced out of their homes and facing higher rents. Right now, if a home in London is rented out on the holiday let market for more than 90 days in the course of a year then the landlord is required to apply for planning permission to let it out to tourists. However, because there are loads of holiday let companies out there, landlords can bounce from Airbnb to HomeStay to Hostmaker and to FlipKey without regulation. Cash-strapped local councils don't have the staff or the data to track down landlords that are breaking the law. The rise of holiday lets is growing throughout England, and councils outside London have even fewer powers to do anything about it. The massive rise in companies like Airbnb and HomeStay means more evictions for long term tenants, less secure private rented housing available for Londoners and rents are being pushed up.3,977 of 4,000 SignaturesCreated by Generation Rent

Save the Meals on Wheels service in BoltonBolton Council want to end the community meals service which delivers a hot meal to some of Bolton’s most vulnerable elderly citizens. Meals on wheels would no longer be provided by the council under new proposals leaving hundreds of local people affected. Staff working in the service do not just deliver a meal, they check on the wellbeing of the elderly and alert other services if there are problems. The service is cost effective and contributes to older people remaining in their own home.1,478 of 2,000 SignaturesCreated by Robert Poole

Do not withdraw funding for Kingsclere Community LibraryKingsclere Community Library has been run by volunteers for nearly 5 years with some funding from Hampshire County Council which they are now proposing to withdraw, leaving the library to be run entirely by volunteers. This would seriously affect the quality of the service we could offer. We would lose 2 hours' support per week from Tadley library, with no delivery of reserved books or new books, no RFID machine, no GoOnline computer and no free Wi-Fi. 74% of our users rely on our library for their books and do not use any other library. The nearest libraries either have inadequate or no public transport (Overton and Tadley) or involve a long bus journey and a long walk (Basingstoke). A lot of people – particularly older library users and families with young children – would find it difficult or even impossible to travel out of the village to another library.1,504 of 2,000 SignaturesCreated by Sarah Davis

WAITROSE CAR PARK RUISLIP - IS NOT WAITROSE CAR PARKThis is important because Waitrose currently pay £250'000 per annum subsidizing the parking in the car park outside the store, which is not their car park. How long will it be before we lose Waitrose due to the overheads? As we all know, more and more people now order online and this additional cost, could be enough to make them close this branch.1,022 of 2,000 SignaturesCreated by Karl Warren Taylor

Ban gambling companies from sponsoring football shirtsIf you go to a football match or watch football on TV, there is a high chance you will see a betting company's logo. That’s because the top football clubs in the country have deals with gambling companies, half of premier league teams have betting company logos on their kit. This means millions of fans across the UK and all over the world are being exposed to predatory companies which profit from problem gambling. An estimated 400,000 people in England have a gambling addiction. And it’s ruining lives. The Government and the Football Association should step in and do the right thing: ban any gambling company from sponsoring sponsoring football teams and advertising their brand on football shirts. Italy and Turkey have already banned gambling companies from sponsoring football shirts. Now it’s our turn.30,099 of 35,000 Signatures

5 days to save our hedgeWe have a mature mixed native hedge over 85 metres long that separates our garden from a bridleway. The hedge consists of hundreds of trees and plants and supports an abundance of wildlife, amongst which are rare, endangered and even protected species such as the hazel dormouse. Hampshire County Council (HCC) have tried to plot the positions of legal boundaries on the ground using an OS map. This is forbidden by law … https://www.ordnancesurvey.co.uk/business-government/tools-support/property-boundaries They say that our hedge is encroaching on a public right of way, when actually the encroachments are leylandii and laurel hedging on the opposite side of the track. Dozens of people have corroborated this fact, plus we have amassed loads of evidence to show that our hedge is within the historic legal boundary, but HCC reject any evidence that goes against their blinkered opinion and are threatening to bulldoze the lot at the end of this month. HCC has declared a climate emergency, “committing to put environmental issues at the heart of everything it does” but ripping out a mixed native hedge flies in the face of this pledge. Dozens of people have already emailed Cllr Edward Heron at [email protected] but he appears unmoved. If HCC carry out their threats, it is going to have a devastating effect on all the wildlife that the hedge supports – and the environment. If you share our concerns about the loss of such an important wildlife habitat please sign this petition.425 of 500 SignaturesCreated by Mike Davies

Parking on Penryn CampusOn multiple occasions students at Penryn campus have had their cars targeted by vandals. Most recently 11 cars tyres have been flattened. By providing suitable infrastructure for student parking, not only would the uni keep us and our property safer; it would also please the residents of our community as we would not be causing an undue burden on the roads.427 of 500 SignaturesCreated by Dexter Jones

TRAFFIC LIGHTS AT BULL'S HEAD JUNCTION IN HALL GREENThis is the site of repeated accidents, the most recent on Thursday 23 Jan. The residents of Hall Green and those who use the A34 Stratford Road in Birmingham have been campaigning for many years for attention to this dangerous junction and to speeding and hazardous driving along this stretch of dual carriageway. We are scared that unless something is done urgently, the next accident will be fatal. There have already been two fatal collisions here. Improvements should include traffic lights as a priority and safety measures to prevent speeding and dangerous driving. This should include all options including the possibility of installing average speed cameras along the length of the A34 from South & City College up to the Robin Hood Roundabout.801 of 1,000 SignaturesCreated by Lou Robson
