Everyone needs regular access to nature - it’s vital for our physical and mental health. And to solve the climate and biodiversity crises we need to be better connected to the natural world. Yet the public only has a right to roam over 8% of England. The Countryside & Rights of Way Act 2000 created this partial right, but it’s unfinished business – for instance, there is no right of access to rivers or most woods. Huge swathes of our countryside are locked away behind barbed wire fences and hostile signs saying ‘Keep Out!’ and you can be shouted at just for going for a swim. What’s more, access to nature is hugely unequal – over a quarter of all constituencies in England effectively have no right to roam at all. While the wealthiest areas enjoy 80% more paths than the poorest. Access to nature should be open to all of us, not a privilege enjoyed by the few. Even where we do have access, our freedoms are under threat. When the wealthy landowner Alexander Darwall won a court case to extinguish the right to wild camp on Dartmoor last year - the last place in England it was legal - it took huge protests to overturn the ruling on appeal. It doesn’t have to be this way. We need to demand that all UK Party Leaders commit to bold new access reform if they are in government. We believe England should follow the example of Scotland, Sweden and Norway, where people have enjoyed far broader rights to access their countryside, so long as they do so responsibly. This isn't about a free for all: we would still have sensible exclusions to protect crops, privacy and wildlife. But exclusion would have to be justified, not assumed. It's time we enjoyed the same rights to access our beautiful countryside here in England! Royal Mail want to reduce their deliveries from six days a week, to just THREE. And what’s worse, the regulator Ofcom might let them get away with it. Bosses claim the current model is “not sustainable”, despite dishing out £2 billion in dividends since 2013 and a £700,000 payout for their ex-CEO last year. We can’t let them get away with this! Royal Mail have been under fire for their poor performance recently, and going down to three days a week is only going to hurt us, the public, who rely on them. We could be waiting for vital letters about medical appointments and legal documents, just so Royal Mail can make bigger profits. It’s up to the Government to make the final decision, but the only way we’ll stop this is if we show the scale of public opposition to these plans. Royal Mail and Ofcom have had their say, but what’s missing is the voice of us, the public. We, the public, won’t accept a reduced service because Royal Mail won’t take the necessary steps to improve performance. They shouldn’t enjoy bigger profits at the expense of their service to the public.

Because not everyone can afford period products and they are a necessity for everyone who needs them.

This is an important heritage issue and millions of people who come to the Island will lose an amazing feature. Islanders will love it to be kept open as it is a key road and keeps traffic out of tiny villages. Help us!

Myself and my fiance currently buy the two together railcard, but it costs £30 a year, but we only use it when we buy our tickets at the train station and to show the conductors on the trains going to and coming back from visiting my fiance's family in the Northeast of England and we live in the Northwest. Neither of us can drive. There needs to be more choice as not everyone needs a railcard that lasts for a year especially if the people who use the card only use it once in an entire year.

"We’re here, in person, for the people who rely on us” is a Post Office mantra. But not in Clapham where they have put forward a plan to close it down, in February 2024, despite the branch being constantly busy. It is as if they do not know how busy this branch is - which cannot be true - and clearly they do not care about how inconvenient, expensive, and for some people impossible, it will be to use one of the alternatives that they are advising us locals we will be able to use "with ease" in the future.

Train travel is expensive, but did you know buying a ticket from a machine at the station could cost you more than twice the price compared to buying online? This is because the best value fares are either unavailable or hidden among several options on many machines. Consumer group Which? found in its research that there were several factors why a ticket machine may be more expensive. Some may not offer cheaper advance fares or split-ticketing, or make off-peak fares less visible. We need to strike while the iron is hot and demand they stamp out this rip-off way of doing business once and for all.

Half of kinship carers report that their child has additional learning needs. Four in ten adopted children missed school due to concerns about their mental health in 2022. Adopted children are also more likely to be excluded and more than twice as likely to be suspended as their peers. These children have a right to attend school and to thrive when they are there. For families of children who are already struggling to cope in school, current approaches to tackling absence are at best antagonistic and at worst, create misery. Only when we equip schools and wider services to meet every child’s needs will we solve the attendance crisis.

Our research has shown that 74% of people think that police holding cells require improvement and 83% of people think that police holding cells should become more adapted for neurodivergent and/or young people. People who have stayed in holding cells have described them as "oppressive" "made me feel insignificant" "very minimal". This is not acceptable conditions for people who may not have committed a crime to stay in.
