• Don't exclude the Greens
The EU referendum is already going to be dominated by the voices of fear and big business that dominate our media. By giving UKIP a further platform to espouse their divisive rhetoric the situation is only going to get worse. The EU is a very flawed institution, it is undemocratic and overly bureaucratic and needs serious reform; but it also enshrines fundamental protection for people at work and the environment (among many other benefits). These are areas the Conservative are already attacking with their draconian Trade Union bill and their shameful attack renewable subsidies and the extension of fracking. By once again excluding the Green Party and ignoring our rising support the BBC is not only acting undemocratically, but is excluding progressive voices and setting the frames of reference for the EU debate in an increasingly negative way. This debate is going to be crucial to the future of society and needs to be as open, inclusive and democratic as possible. We need to ensure all views are heard, and stop them crowding out the viewpoints that care about the interests of ordinary people and our environment.

  • Save an Icon
Lets save the Knowledge and Black Taxis. Today there are far too many PHV (Mini Cabs) on the roads of London, the streets are congested, the pollution is high. We need to cap the amount of PHV (Mini cabs) on the road. We also need to make sure that the London Knowledge (training process to drive a black taxi) is kept the way it is, it works perfectly and keeps the standards high. The Black Taxi has been the most Iconic symbol of London for 100 years and a source of pride, Changing the learning duration to 1 year would destroy an icon of London and the livelihoods of tens of thousands of people.

  • JUSTICE FOR MAX.
Blue Cross, Thirsk have stated that MAX was aggressive but this was challenged by Max's previous family. Also Blue Cross would not allow an Independent report being conducted on Max by a Behaviour Expert. Consequently, Max was euthanized today 18th December 2015. People on Facebook are outraged over the way this Animal Charity, has lied and colluded.

  • Keep your fracking hands off Cannock Chase
On 16th December MPs backed fracking under National Parks and Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) such as Cannock Chase. We call upon the local authorities whom make decisions on planning applications throughout the County:- Cannock Chase District Council, Lichfield District Council, South Staffordshire Borough Council, Stafford Borough Council and Staffordshire County Council to categorically rule out any fracking (including exploratory drilling) anywhere in the County. Staffordshire County Council is in the final stages of approving a fifteen year local minerals plan through to 2030 which includes specific reference to hydrocarbon extraction including shale gas and coal bed methane both of which can be extracted using the technique of hydraulic fracturing or fracking. Cannock Chase and the surrounding areas are know to contain Coal Bed Methane although no surveying has been undertaken for Shale Gas at this time. This document can be found on the Staffordshire County Council website. Less than a week following an international agreement to address the impact of climate change in Paris with a commitment to limit global temperature increase to less than 1.5 degrees centigrade all 8 conservative Staffordshire MPs voted to allow fracking in these protected areas. To address the catastrophic effect of climate change we must keep fossil fuels in the ground and not experiment with unproven and unsafe technologies putting our environment and drinking water at risk. This legislation affects Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty like Cannock Chase, National Parks including the Peak District as well as our groundwater protection zones

  • Leave the Lord's veto as it is
This is important because without The Lords good common sense the country would be a poorer and unhappier place to live. There is more political experience in the House of Lords than than has been seen for many years. Their intervention in the Tax Credit cuts saved this government from political suicide and The Lord's veto is so rarely used that when is then it should prove a sobering notice to The Government that they are mistaken in their agenda.

  • Justice for rape victim. Order a re-trial of Saudi millionaire.
We would like to show solidarity and support to the victim(s) and their family/friends who have been affected by this awful crime. Our Government need to be doing more to support women who are victims of rape & violence. We need clear and accessible support systems in place. It feels to us as if those who are wealthy are given preferential treatment. We are all humans, everyone should be treated with the same respect & conditions. By allowing Ehsan Abdulaziz to be acquitted of these charges, more women have been put at risk. Please stand up and support all victims of rape & violence and petition Southwark Council to investigate with a view to re-opening the case. More information on the details of the case can be found here: http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/crime/millionaire-ehsan-abdulaziz-who-said-he-accidentally-tripped-and-penetrated-teen-is-cleared-of-rape-a6774946.html

  • Fracking in the UK
It is contrary to the government's declared policy of reducing reliance on fossil fuels, it's safety and environmental impact have been ignored and it is contrary to the wishes of the majority of the population. The necessity for fracking is overstated and its' business case has not been adequately sanctioned by people likely to be affected; homes, small businesses and people in the areas identified. The decision is also indicative of a 'dual track' government, where there is a 'public' process for 'mundane' policies and decisions, and a 'hidden' process whereby unpalatable and unpopular decisions are approved, sanctioned or enabled without parliamentary scrutiny or debate, and no-one is apparently accountable for decisions that can have major impact on ordinary people, who consequently have no voice or redress.

  • Safe school crossing for our children
There are currently no pedestrian signals to show when it is safe to cross the road, or how long people have to get across safely. The existing traffic lights only allow an inadequate 5 second window, and the central reservation is too small for the numbers using it, making the junction an extremely dangerous place to cross. The crossing is used by large numbers of children from St Andrew's Primary school, Enfield Grammar School and Chase Community School, as well as children from St George's primary school and other local schools, and many members of the public. We believe the safety of our children should be a priority.

  • Protect vulnerable patients
Limiting choice of dressings available to patients will increase costs in the long term as wounds will take longer to heal and more nurse time will be necessary. It will stifle innovation by discouraging UK companies from investing in dressings that could make a real difference, and will instead lead to job losses and ultimately compound the existing suffering experienced by patients with wounds. This could have a dramatic effect on morbidity rates for vulnerable patients and even lead to deaths in some cases.

  • Take My Blood
The stigma toward gay men regarding HIV and Aids, is outdated and no longer practical. The NHS need people to donate blood, people should not be exempt due to their sexual preferences. The risk of infection is equally real to us all; the reason that more gay men are diagnosed with HIV, is simply because more gay men get tested for HIV than hetrosexual men do. Hetrosexual men in GUM clinics are 10% less likely to agree to a HIV test than a gay male is (Source: Public Health England (PHE) (2015) ‘HIV in the UK: situation report 2015’). Let everyone donate blood for the life saving operations it's used for.
