Save Sherdil, Shafiq, Izatullah And Others From Horrific Deportation to AfghanistanUPDATE 10th March 2015 the Home Office sadly went ahead with the deportation of 32 people to Afghanistan. HOWEVER 20 people were taken off the flight though, including Sherdil, Shafiq and Izatullah. We would like to continue collecting signatures to show opposition to further deportations whilst Afghanistan remains unsafe. We have more time now to really build our opposition- if we collect 100,000 signatures, the issue will have to be discussed in Parliament. NEW PETITION: 38degrees.org.uk/justiceforafghans An Afghan government minister, Mr. Hussain Alami Balkhi, has stated that returned refugees will not be accepted and will be turned away at the airport. Despite this warning, the UK government is still willing to waste thousands of taxpayers money, with an average charter flight costing £218,617, and the government having spent nearly £4m on deportations to Afghanistan in 2011/2. Pay Paramedics the same rate as a Nursing SisterMorale is very low in the Ambulance service. Although they are one of the services responding to 999 calls they are NOT classed as an Emergency service and are paid less than Fire & Rescue staff or the police. The work they do should be properly recognised in the pay they receive. Recruitment and retention are major problems and staff shortages result in them frequently working well over their 12 hour shifts.4,349 of 5,000 SignaturesCreated by John Allen

LOWESTOFT NEEDS A CENTRAL THIRD CROSSINGFor 50 years the people of Lowestoft have agreed that It is important to ease congestion in the town centre and Oulton Broad. We want to draw people back to trading and shopping in Lowestoft. This polder dam crossing is the option that will bring most economic benefit to the town. It will join the town together after years of being split by the river without destroying existing homes and businesses. It is also the cheapest option, considering all access points are already in place and there are no businesses or homes to be destroyed or relocated, unlike the other options. YET IT IS THE ONE THAT NO ONE IN OUR COUNTY OR DISTRICT COUNCIL HAS SERIOUSLY CONSIDERED!! DESPITE 3 MEETINGS ATTENDED BY HUNDREDS OF PASSIONATE CITIZENS OF LOWESTOFT! The fishing Industry in Lowestoft is vital! As June Mummery from BFP Fish Auctioneers stated:" A third crossing would make access to the Fish Market easier when deliveries of fish and sundries are coming in and out." Emergency vehicles are held up waiting for the current bridge, which opens up several times a day to let small boats through, and every minute lost could cost lives! A polder dam bridge will be a unique tourist attraction in itself, and is the option that will bring most economic benefit to the town. Businesses are currently losing productivity hours while employees are stuck in traffic. It will join the town together after years of being split by the river, without destroying existing homes and businesses. It will benefit public transport. It will improve safe crossing for large articulated lorries which currently get held up. Avoid snarl-ups of through traffic in the town centre. Lets put life back into Lowestoft and draw businesses back into our town!551 of 600 SignaturesCreated by Valerie George

Save The VicThe Vic Studios is the only public building with a recording studio kitted out with it's own equipment in; with the pending removal of music from the National Curriculum, it is imperative that other means of accessing music is available to young people. Don't let Cameron veto the TV debatesThe only person who wasn't happy with this arrangement was Cameron, ultimately because he is running scared of defending his record. We, the public, need the broadcasters to stand strong against Cameron's bullying. We want you to stand by the formula you have agreed amongst yourselves and with the other parties, and empty chair Cameron if he decides not to turn up. No one person should be allowed to wield power in the way Cameron is trying to do. It is wholly undemocratic. We the electorate are already feeling a growing disdain for politician and democracy in general. The debates give us a unique opportunity to scrutinise the party leaders on prime time television, not through the filter of a propagandist newspaper media. That's why the broadcasters need to be seen to stand strong against Cameron's attempt to manipulate these debates to suit his own agenda.457 of 500 SignaturesCreated by Michelle Ryan

The Inhumanity Of Benefit SanctionsBenefit sanctions so often target the most vulnerable and voiceless in our society, at a time when they most need support, and are often also imposed for the pettiest of reasons. Is this the way we want our country to behave towards its weakest citizens? Does any nation have a right to call itself civilised when those who are already down have further burdens put on them? Is this the society we want for our children? As a constituent I would urge Nick Boles and fellow MPs to start supporting the people who vote instead of showing they care more about the party line and climbing up the party ladder. Please support this petition to encourage Nick and all MPs who think likewise to have the courage of their convictions to work for the abolition of sanctions, and to usher in a society marked by compassion, not petty inhumanity. Thank you.343 of 400 SignaturesCreated by Harry Riley

£10,000? Mark Simmonds, pay it back. You're standing down at the next election because, apparently, you ‘can’t afford’ to live on an MP’s £67,000 salary. And despite making over half a million pounds in profit from the sale of your taxpayer funded house, you're still claiming thousands in expenses. Such claims are greedy, morally indefensible - and just plain wrong. I call on you to apologise and give back the money you have used for self-promotion.71,201 of 75,000 SignaturesCreated by John Ravenscroft

Ban Smoking in Entrances to Public BuildingsIt is unacceptable that people have to run the gauntlet of smokers to get into some of the above buildings, It is unhealthy, unpleasant and totally off-putting, not to mention the attendant cigarette ends scattered around.75 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Alison Braine

Security of pilgrims to Sri Vraja Bhumi.Barbaric Sexual Assault In Vrindavan On February 24, 2015 At 7 AM, in broad daylight, 82-year-old Chandrika Devi Dasi was raped and robbed at Kesi-ghat, Vrindavan. Chandrika is from Russia. She is a saintly vaisnavi and has come to Vrindavan to pass the final years of her life. In her advanced age has performed Vrindavan Parikrama everyday for the past five years. On February 24th, as she passed through Kesi-ghat, two Indian men, approximately 20 years of age, approached from behind and pushed her to the ground. One of the men stole her parikrama bag and ran away. The other man climbed upon her chest and held her mouth to keep her from screaming, pulled his genital from his cloth and while sitting upon her to keep her from moving, masturbated and passed semen on her chest. After his climax he jumped up to run away and a large knife fell from his cloth. He quickly grabbed the weapon and ran. By Krishna’s blessings Chandrika Devi Dasi broke no bones when she fell. She is shocked and traumatised by the event. Though there were pujaris at the Kesi-ghat temple but they did nothing to help. From her shock, and feeling of shame, she did not report the event to the police on the day that it happened. On the second day when I was informed I instructed her to file a First Information Report with the local police. She did so on February 25, 2015 I reported the incident to our Vrindavan Temple President he sent his legal assistant to deal with the local police. By Krishna's grace the criminals were captured within two days and legal proceedings have been opened against them. But, as events go in India, unless noise is made, they will simply pay a bribe and be released. What if someone tried to rape your 82 year old mother. What would you do ?918 of 1,000 SignaturesCreated by Rachel Stokes

Reclaim Our Rivers! The Canal & River Trust's claim upon the river waters of England and Wales violates the ancient law of riparian rights, established by Henry II in 1188. These rights have never been revoked or repealed, just ignored and abused by the authorities over the years. They state categorically that river waters belong to the landowners of the river bank, and that all citizens have the right to navigate these waters unencumbered. The Transport Act 1968 transferred these rights to British Waterways (the forerunner of the Canal & River Trust), but these rights were not Parliament's to give away, as they belong to their rightful owners, the landowners of the river banks and those who wish to navigate the river waters. These rights do not diminish, unlike those associated with footpaths and bridleways. They remain intact, even if they have not been exercised for many years.362 of 400 SignaturesCreated by Edwin Holmes

STOP CONCENTRIX ASSAULTING SINGLE MOTHERS FOR PROFITWhy should a private company have the ability to spuriously withdraw benefits from single mothers? Threatening them in the process. If they have taken on the job they expect to profit and the only way they can is by cutting benefits by hook or by crook. This is another scandal of ASOS proportions. Stop #PFI contracts from bleeding East London hospitals dryBarts Health NHS Trust is the biggest hospital trust in England, running six hospitals including Whipps Cross, Newham University and The Royal London. It has the biggest health PFI and the biggest deficit. We the undersigned note that: a) Barts Health NHS Trust is in financial crisis with a £93m deficit, the Chief Executive recently resigned, and pending reports on the quality of care and worsening A&E waiting times soon to be released; b) Barts Health NHS Trust is paying £43m a year in interest payments to private investors on the PFI contracts; c) This is a main cause of Barts Health’s deficit and its £58m of cuts last year, including the loss of 10% of posts and the downbanding of staff; d) The PFI contracts make our hospitals outsource key services (like domestics services and catering) to private providers; even when it is more expensive. Barts Health saved 7% of the costs of some services provided under the PFI (or £4m per year) by bringing them in-house. - Learn more about Barts PFI at www.peoplevsbartspfi.wordpress.com - Learn more about PFIs at www.peoplevspfi.org.uk791 of 800 SignaturesCreated by Cameron Stocks
