• Stop Differential Pay For Patient Care
Imagine agreeing to perform 1000 operations for a fixed price per procedure. Imagine you do 1200 instead. The government want to pay less for the 200 extra above the 1000 agreed. If that were to continue, it would become unsustainable meaning some patients who need care would need to travel great distances, or worse still, not get it at all. It creates a financial incentive to reduce or curtail the amount of care a hospital provides - and that can't be good for local patients. While this is important, there is a darker outcome. The unmet care need this creates would lower the barriers to entering the market for independent 'for-profit' care providers. And if a profit is being made, there are patients not receiving treatment. We must not allow this to happen as it will fragment the care provided by the NHS and reduce the financial efficiency of delivering care in the UK.

  • MPs have no role outside Politics
The importance is that it would rule out conflict of interest by MPs and MEPs and make sure that all MPs and MEPs are fully serving the greater good of the UK Population. • (Tax Avoidance) Diverted Profit Taxation
The UK public purse loses tax that can be used to fund much needed public services 25% is too low for the new tax rules. Organisations that have little or no investment in the UK and earn large sums for example: Google made £3.3 billion they paid tax of £20.4 million small compared to if they were taxed 50 % through the new scheme: The public purse would have gained £1.65 billion that could have went to the NHS, Schools, Fire Services, Legal Aid. The consultation closes on the 4th February 2015. Evidence: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4d5FZU64Bnw&x-yt-ts=1422503916&x-yt-cl=85027636

  • Stop the sale of dead sea products at St Enochs centre, Glasgow
    - The Scottish Government has joined in the world-wide condemnation of the “deep inhumanity” of the Israeli massacres and is calling for a ban on arms sales to Israel. - It’s a scandal that St Enoch Centre is hosting Israeli Dead Sea cosmetics outfit Obey Your Body to sell their goods, the proceeds of war crimes and the dispossession of Palestinians from their lands for exclusively Jewish settlement. - These goods are made from materials taken illegally from the occupied Palestinian Dead Sea area, a crime under international law. - Help us to stop these crimes. Let the Israeli stall people know that you oppose their activities and want them removed from Glasgow City Centre as they have been removed from Braehead and Silverburn centres and Ocean Terminal in Edinburgh

  • Stop Labour's Poor Tax
On Thursday 11th December, Brighton and Hove Labour Party proposed an amendment to the Council Tax Reduction scheme. The amendment was passed with the support of all Labour and most of the Conservative councillors. As a result 16,000 of the City’s poorest households will have their Council Tax increased by a massive 76%! In a recent Council consultation, the majority of respondents clearly rejected all proposals to cut this help for people on the lowest incomes. We, the undersigned, condemn this move to single out the poorest residents and ask Labour and Conservative Councillors to overturn this decision immediately.

  • Make Child Maintenance Support fairer
I have had to support my son, who is now 17, for the last 7 years, and I have received minimal support from my ex-husband who is the director of his own business. I have received £5 a week only for the last year, following much debate with the CMS. Before that, I was receiving nothing! Following our divorce, I was forced to sell the marital home, and move into rented accommodation - and renting is not cheap to say the least. On top of this, I have to feed and clothe him, not forgetting all the other expenses that come with bringing up a teenager. We have only managed to have one family holiday since my ex-husband left and I have incurred a considerable amount of debt. I also work full-time to try and provide a roof over our heads. As my ex-husband is a director of a limited company, the CMS cannot prove the income he is drawing - he says that he earns only £250. However, his business is expanding, he has taken on a number of employees, goes on regular holidays, lives in an affluent area - and this is only half of it. He also has gone on to have two other children with his new partner. I am certain that he earns far more than this, but there is nothing in place to prove otherwise. I think this agency, set up to ensure parents are treated equally when it comes to providing financial support to their children, is completely flawed and fails to look after parents whose former partners have their own businesses or are self-employed - and this needs to be addressed. I know there must be other parents in the same situation as me, so please show your support and sign this petition - I want this discussed in parliament.

  • Protect Northern Ireland From Mining And Fracking
Mark Durkan, Northern Ireland Environment Minister, has granted Canadian gold mining company Dalradian exploratory mining rights in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in Gortin, Northern Ireland. This allowed the company to commence a 20,000 metre underground drilling programme and to extend a 700 metre tunnel to 2,100 metres. We are concerned at the potential consequences for the local community, the environment and the local economy which relies on small-scale agriculture and tourism. If the Minister allows mining operations like Dalradian’s without first fully assessing the environmental impact that sets a precedent for other types of major environmental development. In 2011 the DETI granted a petroleum licence to Australian company Tamboran Resources, which planned to use ‘fracking’ to extract gas from shale rock in County Fermanagh. ‘Fracking’ involves hydraulic fracturing of rock to release gas and is not used in mineral extraction. Tamboran’s plans were recently blocked following protests from environmental campaigners. Below are a list of links about Dalradian and Tamboran’s activities: http://www.northernireland.gov.uk/news-doe-041213-durkan-announces-gold http://ulsterherald.com/2013/12/05/gortins-golden-opportunity-for-job-seekers http://ulsterherald.com/2013/12/05/gortins-golden-opportunity-for-job-seekers/#sthash.S5QeER4x.dpuf http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-northern-ireland-foyle-west-28848826 http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-northern-ireland-25575879 http://rt.com/uk/179784-fracking-proposal-rejected-protest A damming indictment of Dalradians method of doing business from Friends of the Earth Northern Ireland. http://www.foe.co.uk/sites/default/files/downloads/10-concerns-about-dalradian-gold-mine-75430.pdf

  • Make JSA/ESA payable from day 1.
As of October 2014, the Govt. changed the rules to disallow the first 7 days of any new JSA/ESA claim. As part of a JSA claim, the claimant is required to spend 30 hours per week searching for work. This must therefore constitute a 'job' in it's very description. When working, an employer would not legally be entitled to disregard your first 7 days work and class them as un-payable work days, so why should the DWP (who, when you sign-on, surely become your 'employer') be allowed to get away with it ?.

  • Attendance Penalty Notices for Politicians and Elected Officials PETITION
The Government Penalty Notices Regulations 2013 requires schools to keep a register of young people attending school and where unauthorised absences result in a pupil’s attendance falling below 90%, then Penalty Notices may (in all but exceptional circumstances) be issued requiring parents to pay £60 within 21 days rising to £120 within 22-28 days of the notice. The justification for the Penalty Notices Legislation is for pupils to benefit from education and achieve their full potential through regular attendance. We believe that the issue of regular attendance is not restricted purely to children who we believe can only genuinely learn the value of attendance if those requiring improvements in absenteeism also adhere to the same standards in their own attendance. This petition calls upon the politicians and elected officials in central, devolved and local government to demonstrate an equal commitment and achievement of at least 90% attendance throughout the year for all meetings, committees, sub-committees and other duties required of them in their public role. The purpose of this is to help politicians achieve their full potential within their role as required of them by the British public and demonstrate meaningful commitment to the seven principles of public life - in particular to Integrity, Accountability and Leadership. Data on politicians’ attendance at committees and official duties is already collected and reported at all levels. Penalty Notices should be levied at the same rates and timescales as those issued to parents whose children fail to meet attendance requirements. This demonstrates equity and integrity.

  • Make a specialist autism social work team for the Wakefield area.
Currently autistic people fall between services in Wakefield, many people with serious need for help cannot access it due to not fitting the current criteria for existing services such as the Community Team for Learning Disabilities (because many of us do not have learning disabilities) or the Community Mental Health Teams (most of us do not have mental health difficulties). Even those of us who are 'lucky' enough to fit in some kind of service, often have our primary needs ignored or misunderstood, often leading to frustration, anxiety and even misdiagnosis. Autism is a serious and lifelong condition that affects a persons communication skills, understanding and often affects ability to live independently in the community. This can be despite having no additional learning or mental health disabilities. It is wrong that currently people who have a serious need cannot access appropriate or any help at all, and is not acceptable.

  • Save Castle Toward
The community project will create in excess of 80 jobs in an area that desperately needs them. It will also create an attraction that will attract visitors to a beautiful part of Argyll, further boosting the areas fragile economy. The project will do more for the area than anything the council has so far done in relation to the estate. The communities of Dunoon, Innellan and Toward are united behind this project, unlike the council, who have only put obstacles in the way.
