• Stop the Government blocking UK wind farms
The UK wind industry now employs nearly 20,000 people and frequently exports more power to the grid than gas power stations. Costs are coming down, employment is going up and wind is reducing our consumption of fossil fuels. The Government's own public attitude surveys show that wind has high levels of public support, significantly above that for fossil fuel generation, fracking and nuclear. We in the UK have recently seen significant climate change induced weather events, toxic levels of air pollution and we now also face threats to our gas supply due to the Ukraine crisis. Now is not the time for the Government to be putting the brakes on the most cost effective form of 'green' generation, particularly in the light of the latest IPPC reports highlighting the huge threat posed to us all by climate change. We need much more renewable generation now for the sake of future generations, as any climatologist will tell you! • sarcoma (The forgotten cancer) awareness, research & treatment
Pauls Campaign aims to raise awareness of Sarcoma on two fronts, public awareness and with those of influence. Sarcoma:'the Forgotten cancer' Sarcomas are rare cancers that develop in the supporting or connective tissues of the body such as muscle, bone, nerves, cartilage, blood vessels and fat. There are around 3800 new cases of sarcoma diagnosed each year in the UK. 100 people a year are diagnosed in Northern Ireland. Sarcomas account for about 11% of childhood cancers and about 14% of cancers in teenagers. There is a huge need for research into sarcoma, research is lagging behind that of other cancers. Sarcoma is hard to diagnose, hard to detect and hard to treat. Biopsy is the only diagnostic tool and surgery often the only curative treatment. Many Sarcomas resist current cancer treatments, Sarcoma destroys so many lives before they ever have the time to blossom. visit us at https://www.facebook.com/pages/Pauls-Campaign/1395524224058670 www.paulscampaign.com @paulscampaign (twitter)

  • Get the Government to Renationalise Britains Railways

  • Save Stubbs Wood
This is a well-used and loved local amenity constantly utilized by children, pet owners, ramblers, cyclists and even just people walking to the village shop. I have lived here for 15 years and have seen these woods used daily by many locals and also by ramblers, dog walkers, cyclists and horse riders who come from miles around to enjoy the wonderful views of Kent. Children play on their bikes, off the public footpaths, they even have a name for an area where they ride which has an undulating landscape, they call it "The Bumps". In the summer they play late into the evening and we often join them with marshmallows and drinks. If you want to avoid the road and the risk of getting run over, Stubbs Woods is a pleasant walk from Goathurst Common to the Ide Hill Village Shop. Many of us wander these paths to collect our Sunday paper. Last summer the residents of Goathurst Common and Mackerels Plain fought a planning application by one of the major landowners to develop another part of our area of outstanding natural beauty into an industrial farm complex. A petition raised to oppose that garnered 700 signatures. This was enough to persuade the local council to oppose the plan and it was eventually withdrawn citing the public opposition as the reason. So petitions work, I hope we can get a similar response to save our spectacular, ancient and well used public space.

  • End the Marking Boycott!
If this boycott goes ahead, it will mean that many third year students will suffer delays to their graduations, as well the very real possibility that they could miss out on places in graduate schemes, Masters etc. Previous attempts at striking about pay have failed. They are willing to go without pay as they have done before in order to prove their seriousness. Our lecturers do not wish to hinder our advancements but it is something that they feel is necessary in order to achieve their goal of fair pay, and students support them in this. However it's the students that will suffer the most if this goes ahead. You and this University have the ability to end that suffering. Please try and negotiate. Thank You.

  • End the Labour Party's support for New Nuclear and Fracking
Increasing research and global experience in both Nuclear Energy and Fracking highlights the profound danger of these energy sources to all Sentient Beings and the precious Earth that supports us. New Nuclear and the proposed storage of nuclear waste on threatened coastal sights is a potential environmental catastrophe of horrifying proportion; is a threat to human health and the Earth; has a huge funding legacy that will continue to increase all our energy bills for years to come; and is totally unnecessary in the light of viable, safer and more economic green alternatives. Fracking has profound implications environmentally for the safety of water supplies, the poisoning of land, air quality, atmospheric carbon levels and the potential to cause earthquake. There are now safe, economic and green alternatives which must be supported by Government alongside an energy conservation programme. If we are concerned with the future of our children, and care for the Earth that so lovingly supports us all, we will act now and encourage a potential Prime Minister to review energy policies. What we do unto this Earth we do unto ourselves. Thank you.

  • Social Housing for MP's Instead of Second Homes
    - To save the country money in these times of austerity. The accommodation will be less of a financial burden on taxpayers than accidentally claimed expenses for second homes. - MP's will be accommodated more in line with the level of accommodation that most of their constituents who they represent enjoy. - It will display a new level of transparency which the government desperately needs. - It will really show that MP's and the people they represent really are 'in it together'. - The housing should be within close proximity to the Houses of Commons to enable MP's to make best use of their valuable time.

  • Abuse of Child in School with SEN in Lambeth , London
I believe in cases of institutional abuse, where the authorities are legally responsible, especially in cases of vulnerable children, the priority is to protect the reputation of the establishment and not the interest of the child. The Childrens Act needs to be changed, it is a grey area of law, and far more support needs provided to victims of Child Abuse, especially those with Special needs who cannot always act as witnesses so the case cannot even get to court .

  • A much needed Diabetes Centre
We as a local support group from South Tyneside have been campaigning since 2006, because a Diabetes pandemic has been predicted by professionals and we need to be prepared for this. As it stands Diabetes sufferers have to attend regular check ups e.g. Eye and Foot screening, Blood tests, podiatry and annual reviews at GP's surgery or hospital, at the moment these appointments are held at various locations and ideally would be much better to be done under one roof especially for the elderly or children who need public transport to attend each of these very important services.

  • Investigate suspicious voting at planning meeting for Cat Hill 2013
Cat Hill is a heritage site. It is 10 acres of ancient woodland with protected European species as well as other endangered species. It also has two ponds which are mentioned in the Domesday Book and a Roman well. Already L&Q are destroying the site. Approx 40% of the ancient trees have already been felled and it is doubtful many of the hibernating Great Crested Newts survived the onslaught of bulldozers (a breach of the Natural England licenses) and the bat roosts have already disappeared into the chipper (again a breach of Natural England licenses, which were never issued for the trees with regard to the bats). The planning meeting saw the Labour councillors vote en-bloc to pass the application after some cajoling from their colleagues. Patting on backs, motioning upwards with hands etc. this smacks of a whip by the Labour Council which is illegal. (We have film of this if it is needed). Cllr Lee Chamberlain raised a question about this and other planning decisions in 2013 at a full council meeting last week. It is time Enfield Council launched an enquiry into bloc voting. This petition demands such an enquiry is launched immediately and the results are made available to the public with full transparency before it is too late to save our beautiful heritage site at Cat Hill

  • MP Maria Miller should face charges in a criminal court
If I had scammed £90,718 off the DWP, I would be in jail. Why is this not the case for Maria Miller who stole our taxes in yet another expenses scandal? Mr Cameron, the message you are putting out is 'one rule for one and a different rule for the other'. It's like you're telling your MP's 'it's okay as long as you don't get caught'. I thought no one was meant to be above the law? Also, she only has to pay £5000 back? We, the people, want justice.
