  • Allow in depth research into cannabis and review laws on the substance
If anyone has tried marijuana, they would know it is much safer then alcohol when grew in the correct setting. The reason why people may have bad effects is because as it is illegal, you will naturally experience more paranoia. Drug dealers will put chemicals into the plant to gain more money for themselves. If it was legalised both of these issues would cease to exist.

  • Strictly limit discharges of raw sewage into UK waterways
It is critical for the environment, as well as for the quality of life and sense of local amenity for all UK citizens. Discharging raw sewage into rivers and coastal waterways is also a significant health hazard.

  • Equal rights for disabled drivers
There needs to be an investigation into the DVLAs policies regarding booking practical driving tests for disabled drivers. Disabled people need to book a two-hour test session, but there is no online calendar for them, as opposed to the one for able-bodied drivers. They have immediate access to all available slots on a calendar, which means they can book their test in a matter of minutes. Disabled drivers, have to wait on hold for up to two hours to book their tests by telephone. We should all be treated as equals. Being disabled means you are less advantaged to start with. Living with and dealing with extra trials and challenges is difficult enough without being made to face on a daily basis that you don't have an equal place in society.

  • Bottle the bottle
If we are really serious about taking positive action re. the environment. How about immediately stopping the manufacture of all plastic bottles and instead recycle the billions of them already in circulation. Why is water sold in plastic bottles when tap water is equally good ,if not better, than bottled water? How many transport miles could be saved by not carrying unnecessary bottles of water around the country? It would be one simple action to confirm the governments commitment to taking real action on global warming and reducing the amount of plastic that is choking the environment.

  • Years worth of successful rental payments in place of mortgage deposit.
It’s important because whilst the price of everything is going up, incomes and salaries are not going up at the same pace. It is getting harder and harder for young people to get onto the property ladder all whilst there is a shortage in rental accommodation. Making it possible for people to get onto the property ladder by proving they can pay a larger amount every month successfully through rent, would improve so many peoples quality of life.

  • I support my General Practice
General practice, like the rest of the NHS, has been deeply wounded by chronic underfunding. Did you know 90% of all of the contacts in the NHS happen in general practice for less than 10% of the funding? There is now only one fully qualified GP per 2,000 people in England, lower than in many other countries. The number of patients per practice is higher than it was in 2015, but the GP workforce has not grown, in fact we are now around 7,500 GPs short. We are also struggling to recruit GPs, nurses, receptionists and admin staff. Despite this deficit, General Practice has provided one million more practice appointments in July 2021 compared to July 2019. GPs in England manage a wide array of acute and chronic health conditions through over 300 million patient consultations each year on top of managing over 1 billion prescriptions a year, countless hours of administration, referral letters, home visits and caring for nursing homes. On top of this we have run the nation's largest vaccination campaign, delivering two thirds of phase 1 covid-19 vaccinations and encouraged one of the highest rates of vaccination in diverse communities through trust and education. Despite the challenges of the pandemic, soaring demand, a shrinking GP workforce and a workload that has often become unmanageable, GPs have one of the highest public satisfaction ratings of any public service in the UK. So to combat the sustained negativity in the media we want to show that there is still support for General Practice and all the work they do to care for their patients and the community. Let's show everyone that we stand with them!
