Save Houghton Field of DreamsThe area in question is the land to the North of Blind Lane in Houghton and has been green, open space for over 40 years and is used by the local community for recreational purposes. Due to several new build developments locally, this is now the only area of green , open space in the locality and is vital for the local community. In 2012, Sunderland City Council carried out a Green space Audit in the area and it was found to be the largest and highest quality green space in the area. It was also identified as serving three purposes; an outdoor sports facility, an amenity green space and as forming part of a green corridor in the area.604 of 800 SignaturesCreated by Marcus Grundy

Save our A & E, Baby Unit, and Stroke Department. North Devon District Hospital. If it closes the nearest A & E Departments are Exeter 54 miles away. Taunton 50 miles. Travelling times depend on the volume of traffic and can vary from day to day, and we are talking hours NOT minutes. Both require traveling along 'The Notorious A361' link road to the M5. Anyone with a medical condition called S.V.T. Supraventrical Tachycardia, has to get to an A & E Dept with urgency for a drug called Adenosine. Which has to be injected intravenously then followed by a flushing injection to stop the heart for a split second to get the TWO Halves of the heart to beat normally again. This procedure needs at least TWO Doctors & 3 Nurses present. This is just one, there must be Hundreds if not thousands of medical conditions that need immediate attention I personally had to move house twice to be near an A & E, I don't want to move again at 70yrs old.9,440 of 10,000 SignaturesCreated by Irene Cowe

Address Concerns Over Education & Child Well-beingWe have the right to expect that those in government with responsibility for children’s education will take their well-being fully into account when making changes to the education system. It is becoming increasingly apparent that many experts in child development, neuroscience, education, and child mental health have serious concerns that the current education system is unfit for purpose and damaging to our children’s well-being. As concerned parents, carers, teachers, and members of the community, we call on the Department for Education to: - Provide independently verifiable proof that child development, well-being and mental health were taken fully into account and given due consideration during the process of reforming the National Curriculum and testing regime; - Provide endorsements from independent experts in child development, neuroscience, education, and child mental health that these changes are in our children’s best interests and contribute positively to nurturing their education. If these conditions cannot be met and the education system remains open to serious allegations of being damaging to children, immediate action must be taken to make the necessary changes. This petition will be delivered to Damien Hinds MP, Department for Education. Experts who have spoken out against the changes to the education system include: • Professor Mary James, Professor Andrew Pollard, Professor Dylan William – three of the four members appointed to the Expert Panel by the government to advise on the construction & content of the new curriculum, who later distanced themselves from the finished curriculum • Dr Margot Sunderland, Director of Education & Training at the Centre for Child Mental Health • Professor Terry Wrigley, Visiting Professor at Northumbria University & Editor of international journal Improving Schools • Natasha Devon, appointed by the government as Mental Health Champion for Schools, a role which was axed after she criticised current education policies as detrimental to children’s mental health • And many more academics, educationalists, teachers, subject leaders… Follow the campaign and find out more at https://parenteducationhub.wordpress.com/954 of 1,000 SignaturesCreated by Parent Education Hub

Ex PM Tony Blair should stand trial for war crimesFor public accountability and ministerial responsibility. It'll also set a global presidence for country leaders not to repeat such personal action. All evidences presented by the Chilcot enquiry prove that he did not act with the public interest at heart. He colluded with former US president Bush Jr. on a personal grudge with Saddam, as if there was something to prove.200 of 300 SignaturesCreated by Samit Hussain

Hold Jeremy Hunt and George Osborne accountable for the 9% rise in UK death ratesOn 23rd June 2016, the Office for National Statistics released distressing data, which shows an increase in death rates of 9% (that's 52,400 people) in England and Wales between June 2014 and June 2015 when compared with data from the previous year. This rise is unprecedented. Never before have we failed our sick and elderly populations to such a degree. The British Medical Journal (BMJ) published the data in an article on 6th July, stating that austerity and economic inequality played a "major role" in this increase. There are now millions fewer social care visits to the elderly per year since Osborne assumed office in 2010 and Jeremy Hunt in 2012. These care packages were seen as playing a vital role in the early identification and treatment of the deterioration in a person’s health and well-being. Public Health England stated that they are observing rapidly increasing mortality rates in the over 75s. These rates are particularly high in “spearhead areas”, which are some of the poorest parts of the country. The BMJ have stated that members of the public with long term health needs such as dementia and other disabilities are suffering the most. Often these are the people among us without a voice. Be their voice and sign this petition to hold Jeremy Hunt and George Osborne accountable for causing the premature deaths of these 52,400 people by inflicting vile austerity measures upon public health services against the wishes of the majority of the British public who value our national health service. We are also calling for a public review of the health budget cuts and privatisation deals that have been and are being negotiated and agreed upon on our behalf. The NHS belongs to us, the responsibility to save it is ours.9 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Ilona Gray

Stop the Destruction Of British Archaeology.Britain has some of the most amazing and diverse archaeological remains in the world, however the new Neighbourhood Planning and Infrastructure Bill announced in May 2016 puts all of this at risk, leading to the destruction of our past for good. The current Requirements that force developers to carry out archaeological and wildlife surveys before starting housing projects may be abolished in the new Neighbourhood Planning and Infrastructure Bill. This will destroy archaeological sites and risk the industry that conducts surveys, excavation and preservation of our vital past. “pre-commencement planning conditions are only imposed by local planning authorities where they are absolutely necessary”6 of 100 SignaturesCreated by corinne feuillatre
