• Increase Enterprise Investment Scheme tax relief to at least 50%
As almost never before UK start-ups are under acute threat and not just as a result of the Coronavirus pandemic. Urgent help is required to support them. The proposed government Future Fund is unattractive to most start-ups and something simpler is required. Increasing the EIS tax relief could be done very easily and extremely rapidly - in days and not weeks.

  • Furlough Pay for Early Years Staff
It's important for the Early Years Sector to be valued alongside other industries! Early Years staff are often on a low wage but not putting us on the furlough scheme has put us under huge financial strain. How are we supposed to support ourselves?

  • Better Pay and Conditions for Care Workers
We undervalue the importance of this sector and with the cutbacks over the last ten years their conditions have become worse and worse. With the demographic that we are all getting older and living much longer this sector is under massive stress. By increasing their wages and improving their conditions, this will attract more caring people.

  • Permanent Free Bus Pass for Door to Door Care Workers
I have seen the valuable work Door to Door Care Workers do at first hand, caring for my bed bound Mum during the Coronavirus Pandemic. Their dedication and hard work, going from one house to the other to provide much needed care services by bus as none of them can afford a car on their meagre wages.

  • Uphold Disabled Rights of 'Reasonable Adjustments' during COVID-19
Many vulnerable and disabled people are currently unable to access essential services such as 'Supermarkets, Health Facilities, Essential Retail Shops, Take Away Restaurants and Banks' without enduring 'temporary measures' which are potentially extremely detrimental to their physical health and mental wellbeing. Disabled people are being turned away from stores when they ask for 'Reasonable Adjustments' to be made to accommodate their disability; The Pregnant, Elderly and those with anxiety or sensory conditions are being forced to wait in long queues outside of a store and met by hostile staff who make no effort to ease wait times for this vulnerable group. Some stores will only make reasonable adjustments during 'unsociable hours' usually before the store opens, which are inconvenient for the majority of disabled or vulnerable people and wholly inappropriate and inaccessible. Whilst the most vulnerable people of society are doing their best to self-isolate; many vulnerable people are more often unable to get support, stay at home due to mental health, shop online or avoid shopping in person for themselves due to allergies or fear of cross contamination. Thank you for your signature, it really means the world to us. * Special thanks to all NHS Staff, Emergency Services and those working to help save lives by shopping for elderly and vulnerable people. Thank You

  • Freeze bedroom tax
It's important because it's a ridiculous tax on the poor and those on benefits especially the spare bedrooms you can just fit a bed in .

  • Money for extra teachers
Children are our future. If they miss the basics in Primary school they will be unable to do well in further education and jobs. It is vital that they get extra help which is not possible in normal size classes. There are not enough special help teachers. Some children will need one on one help, others will cope in small groups but large classes cannot meet all the needs

  • No Airline bailouts without customer refunds
Airlines at first offered cash refunds to customers whose flights have had to be cancelled due to the Coronavirus. But now they are going back on that promise and offering vouchers instead. There is obviously collusion as they have all announced this action together. https://www.theguardian.com/business/2020/apr/22/big-uk-airlines-and-travel-firms-denying-refunds-which-coronavirus https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-52370158 At the same time, they are all applying for enormous levels of public funding to prop up their businesses during the lockdown. Sign the petition to demand that the government withhold public subsidies of the airlines until they honour their legal obligations to customers.

  • No bailout for airlines without environmental conditions
Taxpayers should not be funding an industry which contributes so massively to disrupting and threatening taxpayers' lives. Greenhouse gasses were at an all time high when most air travel was forced to come to a halt in March. There is evidence that the effects of the coronavirus are exacerbated by air pollution. And, most of all, the effects of climate change will do far more damage - both to the health of individuals and the economies of countries - than the coronavirus ever will. Nine million people are currently estimated to die every year due to air pollution. Experts believe there will be 150 million premature deaths by the end of the century due to air pollution alone. That's not to mention what climate change will do to our health systems, our economies, our food supply, to oceans and to wildlife. The taxpayer shouldn't be footing the bill for one of the main contributors to climate change.

  • Freeze interest payments on all loan and credit card 'holidays'
It seems to me that the payment holiday being offered by banks and credit card lenders is a bit of an empty gesture. Yes it will allow customers to miss 3 months of payments without incurring additional charges for being unable to pay the monthly bill, but the interest on those payments will continue to accrue. In simple terms, these companies are making extra profit from their customers pandemic induced difficulties. this cannot be right, or fair.
