• Stand up to Trump's Islamophobia
To challenge the anti-Muslim rhetoric and re-inforce all British citizens' rights to travel freely. To highlight that Trump's stated desire to exclude members of one particular religion from entering the US is in contradiction of the First Amendment of the US Constitution.

  • Whole of Ponteland must stay in Hexham Constituency.
This proposal would effectively split a Community. We are a rural area and it makes no sense to attach the East Ward to an urban area. We have a hard-working MP, Guy Opperman, who understands rural affairs. This would adversely affect our infrastructure, our social affairs and the education of our children.

  • Associate EU citizenship for UK nationals
Over 16 million people voted to remain in the EU, and together with a proportion of those who voted leave, strongly wish to retain the cultural benefits and friendship between European nations at an individual level. When Brexit is confirmed, currently all UK citizens will lose their EU citizenship and for me will affect such things as twinning, student exchange, and cultural exchanges.

  • Ask Brussels to preserve your rights and your vote
The amendment suggests the provision of “European associate citizenship for those who feel and wish to be part of the European project but are nationals of a former Member State; offers these associate citizens the rights of freedom of movement and to reside on its territory as well as being represented in the Parliament through a vote in the European elections on the European lists”. The proposal could potentially give Brits who live and work across borders a workaround to the disruption caused by the Leave vote – and young people looking to flee an increasingly insular UK greater choice over where to move to. Associate citizens would be allowed to keep free movement across the EU as full citizens currently enjoy and would be allowed to vote in European Parliament elections, meaning they were still represented in Brussels.

  • Lower the University International Students Fee
It's important for the future to make Education available and to keep it equal for everyone. Studying first year at an University in England has showed me that there literally is no point of having different tuition fee categories based on nationality. There aren't any extra help for us. We pay extra for nothing more than what every other students gets. It feels like theft! If you for example came from Scandinavia, you would still be recognised as international student in the UK, even if your home is only two hours away - it doesn't make any sense.

  • Do not invite President Trump to visit the U.K.
America's has chosen a narcissistic racist misogynist to represent them on the world stage. Whilst respecting their right to do this we have the right to refrain from endorsing him as an individual by refraining from inviting him into the U.K. President Trump has values that run counter to British values of equality and openness. We should not subject the Crown to the indignity of providing an audience to such an individual. Whilst Parliament has previously discussed excluding Mr Trump from the UK And has decided against such action, this is not the same as extending an invitation to him. Mr Trump is free to apply to visit the UK. But we should refrain from inviting him.

  • Palm Oil-Free Online Shopping
The facts are clear about the impact of palm oil on the worlds resources and carbon contributions. Right now the blame appears to be on the consumer for not making ethical choices. The Government and UKs Leading retailers need to make the choices clear for consumers so that the UK public can make green decisions more easily and quickly everyday. The UK has made a commitment in the Paris Agreement which it must honor. Small enforcements like these will impact large scale public consumption and use of Palm Oil Free products and help the government meet UN targets. It will also raise awareness of this issue amongst the public and help change attitudes to the significance of our daily choices on world health and climate change.

  • Volkswagen Group emissions scandal
All corporations say they are fair and ethical but with the emissions problem that arose from the VAG scandal people within the UK and Europe have purchased cars based on their so called statistics. These customers have been duped and lied to and as a result have been wronged by VAG. As well as fixing the problem with the cars that their customers have been lied to about VAG should also offer compensation much like they are doing in the US and Canada otherwise they believe their customers of Audi, Volkswagen, Skoda, Seat are all second class to their US counterparts. If VAG want's to treat it's customers like this then people should firstly campaign and when they refuse to listen to their customers then people should ensure they do not purchase from this group again.

  • Homophobic Bullying in Rural Areas
In school, I have been campaigning for Stonewall and by using the Stonewall website I have learned a lot about homophobic bullying and how it affects young LGBT people, while looking at homophobic bullying I read a story by the guardian that stated "Hate Crime is everyday reality for rural LGBT people". This is one of the biggest reasons I believe that rural areas especially need to run more services in support of LGBT people. I live in Somerset, Bridgwater and I only know of one group that people can easily visit name 2BU. Using the website I also read stories of children affected by homophobic bullying such as Mikey Barnes who said "I first came out at school at the age of 12 and it wasn’t always easy – a lot of students bullied me for it, and even the few teachers I opened up to told me that I was “too young” to know for sure. I struggled with my mental health for a long time as a result." I believe that many other children part of the LGBT community have felt this way before. I believe more support groups like 2BU or Stonewall support groups would be beneficial to many young people. Stonewall have a history of helping people internationally and locally to not only accept themselves a part of the LGBT community but have also helped to spread awareness to those who might not understand who the LGBT community are and what they represent. Through looking at the work they do around the world they help me understand the struggles the LGBT community have faced but also show how far they have come since the charity organisation started. I hope people look at the website to find more information and understand why there need to be more services available to young people who consider themselves homosexual. What can be done? I think it would be useful if more young LGBT people recieved support by having more groups that they can attend to talk about their issues. It would be great if there could be either a helpline or a way which young people could ask and answer questions anonymously. An increased awareness in school about homophobic bullying by providing schools with advice, posters ,booklets and training to stop bullying in schools.

  • Stop Joe Corre Burning London's Cultural Heritage
Punk is part of our London cultural heritage. It's importance as one of the key youth movements of the 20th Century is acknowledged worldwide and millions of visitors come to London attracted by its multi-cultural qualities. It matters not just to the people that lived through the period but to our future generations. We believe that Joe Corre should donate the collection to the Mayor of London to find a suitable permanent exhibition space.
