Engineers at Brush Electrical Machine have committed to the company throughout their tenure ranging from 2 years service to over 50 years. They have worked throughout the pandemic, as 'key workers', and given continued support to the business and its customers. They have worked away from family and even been told to travel to different countries during the pandemic - unvaccinated and with little contingency in place - resulting in some engineers contracting COVID and passing it to their infant children. Brush’s stance during the pandemic has been driven by a want to save money. Not a need to save money due to sustainability. There had been no evidence given thus far that these cuts are necessary or reflect industry average pay; instead, they represent a comprehensive massacre of terms and conditions, from basic salary, pension contributions and overtime, to holidays and offshore conditions. All of which resulting in an annual loss of 10-15% per engineer. During this time the company have repaid furlough payments to the government (they cannot pay dividends and bonuses if the company has accepted furlough), and given out pay rises to all but the service engineers - including themselves - along with bonuses. This behaviour should be made illegal as, without any evidence or morality the company – or ANY company – has the ability to force these conditions upon us all. We are fighting to stop it,  but - it could be you next.

A year ago after 2 years of looking after elderly parents who required more support and care as time went on I retired early in 2020 to care for them more. Dad had vascular dementia and physical health problems diagnosed in 2017. And after this mums health gradually deteriorated. Mum was diagnosed with cancer in April 2000. Both of them deteriorated further until we were exhausted looking after them. Both moved into a residential/dementia home in June last year. We are not a rich family by any means mum worked as a school cleaner and dad was in the merchant navy but during the war went to work down the mines where he worked until he retired. But because he saved and did without many things as he wanted to leave a small some of money to his family in his will. This put them above the threshold of £23,000 meaning he would have to pay for all his own care home fees, despite having lots of physical problems after years working down mines that probably led to or exacerbated vascular problems leading to his dementia. We found out that mums continuing care would be paid for but dad’s would not and his continuing care would be classed as social care needs. This makes no sense to me when both mums physical illness and dad’s physical illness both led to both of them needing more social care and health care. Sadly we lost mum last June and because of the pandemic she died alone in hospital as we were unable to visit her this was traumatic and is still very upsetting when I think about it. If Dad did not have the physical diagnosis and health problems he would be able to see to his own social care. But his inability now to be able to dress and feed himself is the result of his physical problem. Just as mums cancer led her to unable to look after herself. So why is there a difference in funding care? This is unfair and surely under human rights and equal rights both mum and dad should have the same access to funding their care. This government promised to fix health and social care funding and with a small health insurance increase of about 2 pence per person on wages of each worker. And following the Dilnot report recommendation we could have a fully funded health and social care system to be proud of. Now I am asking Boris and his government to for once take a strong lead and sort this problem. Our elderly and disabled and vulnerable have been let down long enough now and this has been greatly exposed during this pandemic. Dementia is a growing concern and as people live longer more and more are being diagnosed without any cure in sight. Most people fear dementia more than any other illness. It would be less frightening if we had great dementia care fully funded. Research is needed to find a cure and ways to reduce the disability caused by this condition. Families require support to keep loved ones as independent as possible for as long as possible in their own homes.

They are a unique piece of Living Heritage Opened in 1909 as an addition to the 1884 Public Baths, Carlisle Turkish Baths are one of only 12 original Victorian style Turkish Baths in Britain still operating, and the only ones remaining in the North West. They are under threat When new swimming pools open at Carlisle's main leisure centre in 2022, the Public Baths will close leaving the Turkish Baths on their own, and without a plan for their continued use. Operating alone it is unlikely that the Turkish Baths will survive. The way forward The Vision is to develop the original Baths & Turkish Baths building as a 'Health & Wellbeing' centre. The centre would use one of the existing pools as a hydrotherapy pool & the other as a leisure pool. There is also space in the building for a therapy & treatment rooms, other health related facilities and a bar & restaurant. We propose that the site of the 1970s pool - due for demolition - is used to create a new city centre park. Breathing space and light into the area and providing an accessible play area, water features and an outdoor gym, and providing outdoor health and wellbeing facilities to complement the new centre. Funding As well as opening up a new main entrance to Carlisle Station at the rear of the Baths, the £20m Carlisle Station Gateway scheme includes £400k to 'patch-up' the Baths. We would like that money rolled into the Vision project, along with some of the £19.7m Town Centre funding Carlisle has won. Newcastle, Swindon & Harrogate all won Lottery Heritage Funding for their Turkish Baths, we believe Carlisle could do the same.

This could make such a lot of difference to help take the pressure off. Some people find this role a tough one juggling everything. We are a tough reliant group and carry on regardless. We never complain but we seem to have been forgotten.

In the light of various allegations made recently, coupled with speculation already mooted on Social Media and Main Stream Media, together with the appalling behaviour of the former Health Secretary, this has now left the general public with a total loss of confidence that an Inquiry some time in the future will be open and transparent. The Covid-19 Pandemic has profoundly affected all aspects of people's lives and resulted in over 125,000 extremely traumatic deaths. Businesses have been descimated. Care Home residents abandoned by the Government. Education has been severely disrupted. The Pandemic is something no government has had to deal with for over 100 years and it is now paramount that the general public see and hear what lessons could be learned from how the Government has dealt with all aspects of keeping us safe, including how [wisely] taxpayers money has been spent in appropriating PPE, hospital equipment, mental health provisions etc. Leonardo da Vinci once said "Nothing strengthens authority so much as silence" WE WILL NO LONGER BE SILENT.

Cause it’s not fair if they can’t get a test date before there theory’s run out , because of covid , it’s not fair to make them retake it and also have the extra cost which a lot of people can’t afford

The reduction has caused residents to suffer a lower quality of life, with less weekly budget it has resulted in occupants: - Having inadequate central heating. - Not being able to afford a feasible amount of food. - Suffering a drop in mental health due to stress. - Entering rent arrears Two thirds of those affected by the 'Bedroom Tax' collected some from of disability benefits. There is a lovely lolly pop man called Ron who has been moved from Ashton lane to harbour road, the children and family’s that cross on Ashton lane really miss him , there is no body on Ashton lane to take the children across and we all want him back on Ashton lane please consider this as there is no need for a lolly pop lady or man to be crossing any teenagers on harbour road as they cross themselves we are very upset that he has been put on harbour road and would like to bring him back where he is needed

Today we learned that Alexanders Community Development have withdrawn their interest and proposal for the former Bowling Green. They advised that they had consulted and listened to the local community , most of whom had said that while they supported their idea, it was not the correct location for it. This does not mean that our campaigning is over as Dundee United Community Trust still have plans to take over the pavilion and areas of our park by way of an Asset Transfer offered to them by Dundee City Council. Whilst DUCT have now modified their initial proposal confirming that it was no longer their intention to fence off a pitch, create car parking and add floodlighting, their interest still remains in the pavilion and one pitch. We feel that this is simply a "get one foot in the door" approach and that it would ultimately lead to them acquiring more of the park under the same scheme. I feel this is hugely important and could save many lives just as the Christian Eriksen incident of 2021 Euros has proven.

This petition is to bring attention to the opening hours of Brookwood Cemetery and the need for the visitors to have extended opening hours. Most cemeteries are open at different hours based on season, winter 8am til 5pm and summer 8am til 7.30pm. Brookwood Cemetery however have a standard opening and closing time all throughout the year of 8am til 5pm. There is a demand from the visitors of the graveyard and this interest deserves to be taken into consideration and accommodation to be made. We are hoping this petition will encourage the council to accept the proposal of the following: Brookwood Cemetery Opening Hours: Winter: Monday to Sunday - 8am til 5pm Summer: Monday to Sunday - 8am til 7.30pm Access via the train station has been effected by the new ANPR camera and 20 minute free parking is not enough to spend graveside.
