Keep the Goldsmiths Arms a pubFor 200-years this historic pub has sat at the centre of the East Acton community. We believe that our pub can have a bright future serving a growing population in an area where the population continues to grow. We ask that Ealing Council give its’ support to our campaign to preserve the Goldsmiths Arms in its’ current form as a pub and community facility.2,505 of 3,000 SignaturesCreated by Jacqueline Davis

Remove Donald Trump from TwitterDonald Trump shares hatred and doubt in a space where tolerance and love should exist. It is inexcusable to allow the so called leader of the free world to give a platform to a party of hate. Twitter have even admitted that the tweets were controversial and suggested they would otherwise violate its rules, but because of the newsworthiness of Mr Trump's tweets, they are allowing them to stay up. They would otherwise likely result in either the post or his whole account being removed.10,458 of 15,000 SignaturesCreated by Ed Vant

Help the people of Raigmore to purchase the Raigmore BunkerCARE have worked very hard to improve Raigmore Estate with 2 parks and a skatepark already installed, the addition of this bunker and exterior space would greatly improve what we can offer. The Civil Defence and Emergency Service Preservation Trust have transformed a bunker in Dundee and will do the same with this one. This facility will be available for tours and bookings and will be restored to its functional state. In addition CARE plan to run a community cafe, to rent workspace to locals, meeting space for groups and an outdoor area for events. All profits will go back into the community. We would greatly appreciate your support to make this happen.511 of 600 SignaturesCreated by Jackie Lumsden

Introduce a tax (levy) on throwaway plasticThe UK produces billions of pieces of throwaway plastics such as plastic straws, plastic cutlery, plastic cups and coffee cups every year. Yet a huge percentage of these are not recycled - instead they end up littering our streets, our beaches and washing out to sea where they pollute our oceans and harm marine wildlife, which we then end up consuming! One of the most effective solutions is to introduce a small tax on throwaway items (straws, cups, cutlery, takeaway boxes, coffee cups, beer cups) at the point of sale. This has been incredibly successful with plastic carrier bags, where a small 5p charge has resulted in a reduction of over 80% in use in supermarkets. The tax collected should be ring-fenced for investment in anti-pollution strategies and solutions that work towards a circular economy where ‘waste’ is designed out of our system. In the recent budget, the government announced that they would investigate the possibility of bringing in a plastic tax to the UK, but nothing's confirmed yet. Please sign the petition to show your support for the idea, and help stop plastic pollution at source.245,011 of 300,000 SignaturesCreated by Natalie Fée

Stop Scotrail Skipping StopsCommuters have had enough of the daily train lottery. Will the train be running and will it stop? Or will I again be left standing on the platform to wait for the next train in the hope it is actually running, perhaps even watching the train roll past without stopping because it's running 8 minutes late? And if I get on a train will it be going to my stop or will I be left stranded 3 stops before my destination? Will I get to work on time? Will I get home to collect the kids from school? Will I make that appointment? Or will I get let down by Scotrail yet again? Sound familiar.... Despite Scotrail claiming skipping stops is a last resort, on a number of routes it appears to be a daily occurrence. Commuters are paying for a service and the service they are receiving is not acceptable. Is it too much to ask that trains start where they are supposed to, stop at timetabled stops and actually reach their destination? The practice of stop skipping must be stopped.2,168 of 3,000 SignaturesCreated by Lynn Reid

Ban Plastic GlitterProducts containing glitter and lustre made of tiny pieces of plastic (micro-plastic) are having an effect on the environment and on us. The UK could reduce the global impact of these harmful micro-plastics by banning them as soon as possible. Plastics are now found in almost every corner of the planet, including all the worlds oceans. Even worse, micro-plastics are being found in almost every level of the food chain, right up to the top! Because we are at the top of most food chains there is no doubt that means you and me! One recent study showed that up to a third of fish caught in the North Sea contained micro-plastic particles. We have no idea what long term effects micro-plastic will have on us, our children or the other animals and plants that share our planet. This is a very disturbing thought. Next time you eat something, what will you think? I think we need to do everything we can to stop using any plastics that can pollute the environment. We need to do this as soon as possible, before it's too late and everything gets contaminated. Banning glitter and lustre micro-plastics in the UK would be a step in the right direction. We would send a clear message to other members of the global community that we are doing something for global environmental protection. That might influence them to follow our lead. Please Mr. Gove, do the responsible thing and ban micro-plastic glitter and lustre from the UK.6,765 of 7,000 SignaturesCreated by Peter Roberts

Don't replace Hari Singh Nalwa Academy - LeicesterHari Singh Nalwa academy is situated at Guru Tegh Bahadur Gurdwara on East Park Road in Leicester which is the hub and heart of the community. The academy has been running for over 4 years promoting health and fitness within the community. The academy currently offers classes in strength and conditioning, boxing, Muay Thai and Jiu Jitsu, the academy services 100+ people (of all ages) per week and is continuously being improved upon, not only in the number of classes; coaches; equipment but also brings in Sangat into the Gurdwara and can be seen as a safe and positive environment especially for the youth of today. The committee have decided that they want to move the Academy to a much smaller space to make way for a new wedding hall. The space offered to the academy is barely one third of what it currently is. This is a backward step by the committee and will have a detriment affect to the academy, community and Gurdwara as the academy brings in people from all walks of life. Please take the time to sign this petition to show the committee how important this academy is and that downsizing it, will be downsizing the number of youth and even adults coming to the Gurdwara.619 of 800 SignaturesCreated by Harj Kooner

Keep All Northamptonshire Libraries in Public OwnershipLibraries are often one of the last free to use public hubs in towns and villages where services have already been drastically cut. Reducing Northamptonshire's libraries and potentially leaving only 8 would be devastating for this semi rural county. These important buildings don't just house books they provide modern meeting places for many clubs and groups as well as community events, meeting rooms, internet access and a host of other services. To lose the libraries and with them some children's centres and elderly respite provision would be a real tragedy for our thriving communities leaving us without access to vital services.59 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Suzanna Austin

Save Northamptonshire's Public LibrariesUp to 28 of the County's 36 libraries will be closed if the council's plans go ahead. Libraries are vital to information, reading and research, children's learning, ideas and educational facilities for everyone. They are centres of communities. The public library is the place where children love to choose their own book. They learn to enjoy reading which is one of life's most rewarding pleasures.1,767 of 2,000 SignaturesCreated by Paula Williams
