  • Change the Day for holding elections in the UK from Thursdays to Saturdays
Hundreds of primary schools are closed each year to cater for local elections. In addition, thousands are closed to cater for general elections and referendums. Other countries hold their elections on Saturdays. A recent legal precedence ruled that a parent could not remove a child from school to go on holiday, but local authorities are regularly forced to close schools to facilitate elections.

  • Hands Off Oswestry's Council Homes
Plans to sell off Oswestry's council houses were voted against ten years ago. Our attitude to this has not changed. Oswestry needs more social housing, not less. We want investment in building new homes in the right places for our community whilst protecting our heritage.

  • Make Stevenson Square car free
Stevenson Square is a space that the people of Manchester could own, in a city that lacks publicly owned community spaces. It was once a space for open-air speakers, a meeting place for all and the starting point for processions and celebrations. Today we're seeing the revival of that culture with street parties, markets, cafes, bars and restaurants spilling out into the square. But it can never be the vibrant public space we need whilst cars continue to dominate it. By removing the right of cars and buses to use Hilton Street the square could be a permanent space for music events, festivals, community gardens or just people enjoying their lunches in the sun. Just look at what happened when Levelz took over the square for just a few hours as part of Record Store Day https://twitter.com/LEVELZMCR?lang=en. Pure fun.

  • Support local musician John Selah busking in Edmonton North London
Edmonton is one of the most deprived areas of the U.K. It is also perhaps the most ethnically diverse and community spirited. Since busking in Edmonton I have had children dancing, pensioners singing along, people taking videos and selfies and nothing but support, smiles and good will from everyone who has heard me playing. We have had many troubles in Edmonton....particularly gang-related murders, but people here strive to live in harmony, and amidst the struggles of their day to day living they seem to enjoy my busking more than those at Covent Garden, Piccadilly Square, the London Underground and all across the U.K. and places I have played over the globe. I generally believe that my attitude and music contributes to the joy and beauty of this very special town. I have been stabbbed, struggled through mental illness and foster care, but have been a youth worker for the twenty years I have lived in Edmonton and I merely want to give something to these wonderful people and help my own journey a little in an honest positive way.

  • PREVENT PROPOSED MOVE OF BUS STOP OUTSIDE ERIN COURT
There are already a number of issues with the entrance to erin court that have been reported to genesis ha. General public are using this area to urinate as well as using it as a convenient rubbish tip. Erin court residents feel that by relocating the bus stop directly in front of our entrance, it will be used for more of these undesirable activities. Furthermore, we are extemely concerned about our safety and security if plans to move this bus stop go ahead. It will be impossible to determine (especially late at night) who will be legitimately waiting for a bus and who might use this as an opportunity to loiter and unlawfully gain access into erin court, thus creating a risk of burglary or assault to the residents of erin court
