The Walk In centre has become an essential service to the 60,000 residents in the local area. It massively relieves the pressure on the A & E unit in St Peters. No appointments are needed and it was open everyday.

On 30 October 2017, NHS Lanarkshire voted to close Douglas Ward at Udston Hospital. This decision was made without proper public or patient consultation. The ward provides crucial lifeline care to patients with complex health needs. Many of the patients have lived there for over ten years and now consider this their home, as do the relatives who visit. Its closure means that its patients will move further away from family and friends, and have less contact from loved ones and the additional support they desperately need.

A recent survey within Sir Kevin Barron’s constituency showed 90% were against fracking. The environmental and health implications of fracking are well documented, and the UK is not reliant on it for future energy needs. Should this level of inactivity continue then, by signing this petition, we commit to vote against your party at the next opportunity unless a more proactive successor is appointed.

The residents need peace of mind and relaxation at night so speed calming measures need to be put in place to stop our cars being damaged or written off, animals being killed and prevent the injury or death of a child as a result of people constantly excessively speeding, motorbikes doing wheelie's and mainly driving like lunatics. Our roads are used as a quick cut through, with vehicles usually driving faster than the 30 mph speed limit on a regular basis, in an attempt to beat the traffic on the busy Reading Road and then used as race tracks at night. The result of this behaviour is lots of damage to vehicles and losses of beloved animals. My daughter's car that she didn't know she had was written of by a speeding driver who fled the scene leaving no details early hours of 1st October 2017, as reported in the Henley Standard. Numerous cars have been side swiped or had wing mirrors damaged by speeding vehicles and we sit and listen to the screeching of brakes and await the bang of the collision on a regular basis in the evenings. I personally have witnessed a couple of cyclists being knocked off their bike's and motorcyclists doing wheelie's or tricks up the road, animals being hit and killed while the driver carries on their way without stopping. This needs to stop!!! It was bad enough when the road was covered in potholes but since it has been resurfaced it has become 10 times worse at least. It is only a matter of time before it becomes a pedestrian that is badly/critically injured.

It is the only hospital left in Glossop. The people of Glossop have to travel 7 miles on an extremely busy route to their nearest A&E hospital at Ashton under Lyne. Shire Hill provides excellent care in the community as well as a thriving pysiotherapy unit.

The Whittington Hospital Board have decided to appoint Ryhurst, a subsidary of Rydon, to co-ordinate and manage the proposed Estates Strategy. This is the company that refurbished Grenfell Tower, prior to the devastating and tragic fire, and more locally the Chalcots Estate. There has been no community consultation regarding this irresponsible, insensitive and crass decision to appoint Ryhurst. We do not want to see parts of the Whittington Estate, covering community and in-patient health care across Haringey and Islington, sold off. Ryhurst will be entitled to share the proceeds with the hospital - to pocket OUR health funds, paid out of OUR health taxes. Staff could lose jobs and health service provision could be cut.

Planned changes will leave Gainsborough ambulance station with only one ambulance. East midlands ambulance service wants to move Gainsborough's ambulances to bigger towns like Lincoln and Newmark. A town of 20,000 people can’t have just one ambulance. Waiting times for ambulances are already high and there have been numerous stories about accidents and problems arising from the shortage of ambulances. We believe this will leave the residents of Gainsborough and West Lindsey with an inadequate service that will put lives at risk.

Their upsetting deaths go unheard and their poor working conditions, long hours of labour in the blazing heat without enough breaks, are all justified by the end result of this majestic, glorious stadium. But little do we know that the the stadium is being built on a graveyard of human bodies. The World Cup workers, who are mostly migrants from neighboring countries desperate for work, are enduring potentially life-threatening heat and humidity resulting in the deaths of hundreds of dedicated workers. The temperatures are of course inevitable, but the lack of statutory breaks imposed on the workers are not. Their passports have been confiscated and they are refused exit Visa's. So of course they are left unwillingly fixated in this tormenting and grotesque cycle of work and suffering. And this form of modern slavery has been occurring for almost 7 years now. Currently over 1000 have died from "unexpected causes" that the Qatari government neither explained nor investigated further. So once again the poor families of these workers are left in the darkness with false (and in some cases no) information regarding the death of their beloved family member. We all share one commonality... We are all humans. No life is more superior to another. Therefore EVERY life is worth saving.

YOU USE IT - DON'T LOSE IT The accessibility to the estuary seawall via the path which runs alongside Bradwell power station is under threat. Although the area has, in the past, been maintained by the power station, the footpath has no official designation. To ensure it remains open and accessible, Essex County Council is being requested to officially designate the path as a Public Right of Way. There is a petition form in the village shop – which aims to demonstrate to Essex County Council that the path is sufficiently used to justify becoming a Public Right or Way. So if you would hate to lose this access, please sign the petition which asks how long you have been using the footpath. Additionally, you can comment on this post and/or share it with others in the Dengie who also enjoy the benefits of getting to the estuary via this path.

The Directors of Airedale NHS Trust are about to transfer the staff who run hospital buildings, grounds and purchasing departments into a private company. This private company can only provide cheaper services to the hospital if it cuts corners, or cuts jobs, pay and working conditions. Lower pay and increased work will hit the morale of already overstretched NHS staff, making it hard for their families to make ends meet and the whole community. Hospital staff should be thinking about how to provide the best service for patients, not worrying about how they’re going to pay the bills. The NHS is not only a provider of health care for all, free at the point of need but an important provider of good quality, fairly paid jobs.

Bield care homes provide care for more than 160 people in Scotland, all of whom are about to lose their homes. Most of these residents are elderly and have complex needs, including dementia. My 87 year old Grandmother is a resident of Bield. Leaving her house of over 50 years was a massive wrench. She has said that "having to start over again is terrifying". She feels the situation to be "just hopeless". Other residents have said that they feel "completely forgotten about" and are "fearful of what their future holds". The thought of my gran and others having to find new accommodation and to go through another long settling in period, doesn't bear thinking about. The impact on my gran's and that of other residents' mental health would be catastrophic. For a person living with dementia, having familiarity of surroundings and trusted faces contributes to them feeling safe and secure. How sad that for so many of Bield's residents all that they know is about to be taken away from them. Bield's overarching values include "Dignity" and "Caring". Their slogan is "a home for life". They plan to close 12 care homes. This is also believed to be affecting 200 staff. Several of these homes will be giving notice to their registry body close to Christmas, so time is of the essence. We implore the Scottish Government to take action against these closures in order to spare these residents further distress.
