  • Don't build a tunnel at Stonehenge
Because I like catching a glimpse of Stonehenge as I drive past on the A303. Putting the road in a tunnel will spoil this pleasure for millions, and their children.

  • Regular Day Bus Service Between Beaconsfield, Penn and Hazelmere
In Beaconsfield congestion keeps getting worst and it is mostly due to people driving into the train station and to school during peak times and this means that it can take you 30 minutes to get into Beaconsfield on the Penn Road. Also Knotty Green is currently a blank spot for a regular bus service and has a 30 minute walk into Beaconsfield to get the bus/train. So an extension of these routes would reduce congestion and provide a vital link between Beaconsfield, Knotty Green, Penn and High Wycombe.

  • Safer roads in Penpedairheol
So many children along with families and elderly are put at risk each day crossing the main road through Penpedairheol. There has been a number of accidents and children knocked down by the sheer number of cars which use the roads and the lack of visability due to parked cars. It is essential that our local council pay attention to ensuring we live in a safe environment in order to prevent a fatality.

  • FREE Parking on Princes Parade
Shepway is fast becoming a tourist location that is popular for many. For us who live here, the beaches and canal are the places we go for leisure, for exercise, for stress relief, to enjoy and the council are taking that away from us. We should be able to enjoy this area without paying! Not only are they charging, they have put the machines the opposite side of the road, a danger waiting to happen. Sign this petition, show support and let us put pressure on these councillors!

  • Make all Rainham buses stop at the train station
There is currently only one bus (103) that operates directly outside of Rainham Essex c2c rail station, however there are three other buses that operate in the local area. Therefore, we want the Mayor and Transport for London to direct the 287, 372, and 165 buses to stop at the Rainham Interchange bus stop (outside Rainham station). This new bus route will enable people to more easily change between buses and the train, at any time of the day. By introducing this additional bus stop, it will connect the 287, 372, and 165 buses to the 103 and provide those with specific mobility requirements with better access to different modes of transport. In addition to the station, the bus stop also directly serves Rainham Library and its nursery so the justification for better connections to it seems overwhelming. This bus stop also has better shelter for people to stand under in bad weather than Rainham War Memorial (D) bus stop, which all buses currently stop at. Residents and commuters will have a direct route towards the station and back home without having to walk through the dark, in bad weather, or out of their way to another bus stop. This will reduce the number of local and short car journeys that drop off and pick people up from the station.

  • First Bus seat belts option
Firstly it astonishes me that public transport providers can get over 80 people on a bus without providing a single seat belt for its passengers. Some buses will travel along the motorway at 50mph+ and will be at the same if not an increased risk of being involved in an RTC, do we not deserve the right to protect ourselves against injury in the event of a collision? How is it illegal for one person in a small car to not wear a seat belt yet these bus companies can cram over 80 people onto a double decker bus and then travel at 50mph down the motorway without providing a single seat belt. Think about our children and elderly that are more fragile than the rest of us, surely they deserve a little extra protection. Please sign this petition so we can force public transport providers to act responsibly and protect us wherever possible. After all we are relying on one person who we've never met before to drive correctly and make the right decisions on a very busy highways network.

  • Castle Ward Air Quality Petition | Colchester Green Party
Colchester Green Party have been monitoring levels of nitrogen dioxide (NO2) in a number of locations in Castle Ward. Five areas exceeded the World Health Organisation's recommended safety limit of 40 micrograms per cubic metre. These high levels of NO2 pose a serious health threat to the public, particularly residents living in the following areas: St Botolphs Street - 52.72 East Street (Ipswich Road junction) - 60.74 North Station Road - 58.02 East Street - 52.76 East Hill (Priory Street Junction) - 44.17 We therefore call upon the Colchester Borough Council to decrease the levels of pollution, starting with the implementation of our three proposals. These proposals would encourage drivers to consider alternative modes of transport (cycling and walking), deter drivers from idling, and incentivise electrification of motor vehicles.
