The 21st June is National Clean Air Day, when children and adults across the West Midlands are pledging to walk, cycle and raise awareness of the effects of air pollution. As you know, all member authorities of the WMCA have areas which exceed legal limits of nitrogen dioxide. Evidence shows that such exposure reduces lung growth, contributes to long term ill health and can cause premature death. We hope that National Clean Air Day will reduce pollution on the day, but more importantly it is an opportunity to focus on the future. The single largest source of nitrogen dioxide in many areas is diesel cars, and in this region more than most this is due to a car dependency faced by many households. For too many people public transport, walking and cycling do not feel safe or practical. Road congestion damages our health, economy and communities, and the current dependence on cars is unsustainable with a growing population. Meanwhile, cars contribute to many of the other health challenges we face. Among these, the West Midlands has some of the highest childhood obesity rates in the country, and the lowest rates of physical activity - both would improve if children felt safe to walk and cycle. Sedentary lifestyles are closely linked to car use and contribute to major illnesses such as diabetes, heart disease and depression. The combined authority includes areas which already have some of the poorest health outcomes in the country. If the West Midlands is to grow inclusively the opportunity for health must be available to all residents, with clean air, safe roads, and well-connected transport.

So the major museums and attractions in the area are accessible for all.

Evidence (from Institute for Government, British Ports Association, Ports of Dover and Calais, Eurotunnel, Freight Trade Association, Imperial College) shows that M20 and M2 and surrounding roads are likely to become slow traffic jams, if, a) the UK government takes us out of the Customs Union and the Single market, b) we don’t get a ‘no-tariff deal’, and consequently, DOVER and KENT are badly affected by the new border checks that follow. New 2018 evidence is even clearer of how unprepared we are. However we each voted in 2016, we cannot allow our journeys to work, school or health care appointments to be subject to gridlock, that will also affect emergency vehicles and tourists across the channel wanting to visit White Cliffs Country. Delays in the delivery of perishable food could cause ‘stockouts’ in supermarkets, a lack of pickers means crops are being wasted. As a result, food prices will rise, making life yet harsher for the most deprived. Computerised checks don't exist and to introduce them could take 5 years or more. The road infrastructure in East Kent needs to be extensively up-dated, in a SUSTAINABLE manner, if it is to cope. Contraflow is not a solution. We call on the UK government, to agree a ‘no-tariff deal’, to provide decisions and funding for Border Force to prepare adequately for change. We call on Kent County Council, to hold public consultations before February 2019, about the infrastructure needed. We call on all Kent MPs to vote this summer for a ‘no-tariff deal’ that will start to reduce the Kent traffic chaos we are told to expect.

Glasgow residents and visitors have been delighted to see the beautiful 1842 arch revealed in all its glory after the recent demolition of the 1970s Station facade. We'd like to see the arch preserved in the proposed design.

No train departure from King's Lynn prior to 07:15am will have any on-board host presence. Trains departing prior to this are the busiest trains of the morning. Two thirds of the stations up to Cambridge are rural, un-staffed sites and quite often machines at these stations are unreliable and out of service. The revenue protection role was amended to the title of passenger host and by definition the role is predominantly customer service focussed, supporting vulnerable and elderly passengers in addition to providing safety and security.

GCC are doing a fantastic job by stealth of fining residents who already hold parking permits. It's night after night, scores of tickets for £60 have been issued. This will drive away our friends, relatives and above all shoppers to Byres Rd. Prepare for a retail meltdown like in 2008 when there were 12 empty shops for 5 years on one of Scotland's alleged Premier shopping street, really! And the parking wardens are not observing for 10 minutes before issuing tickets. The last Labour led council started this scheme to fill their dwindling coffers. I want the SNP led council to fix it ASAP. I didn't vote for this parking regime, neither did the people who have signed this petition. What exactly is the extra revenue being spent on, certainly not the roads! The parking wardens have arrived en mass in white mini vans at gone 6pm and stay in the area until almost 10pm every night. Clearly they are not issuing enough tickets during the daytime to meet their quotas! One person told me allegedly they posse of parking wardens are a private firm bussed in from England, I will investigate further.

It gives a message on the pump to pay at kiosk yet are unmanned at night. Please allow this option to pay for fuel as some people do not have £99 in their account every day of the week. To see this problem look at forecourt CCTV and see how many customers are driving to work on empty without getting the required fuel, hospital workers, night shift workers or college students trying to go to their families at the weekend or even your son or daughter who may not have a big budget. These groups of people could end up on the motorway without fuel. This system is about prevention of fraud yet there is CCTV and numberplate recognition. When you put your card & pin number full bank account details you are giving authority for the debit of the money from your account. If you had no intention to pay this would be surely classed as fraud with CCTV. The £99 money is held back so you cannot buy more fuel from anywhere else. A prime example would be if you put £10 of fuel in over the weekend period and you only had £100 in your account you could not put another £20 in your tank and would then become stranded and vulnerable.

Having had an increase in traffic due to house building elsewhere in the Bolsover District and the increase in Pedestrian accicdents it’s imperative that Pedestrian access throughout the village is increased so that our children can walk to both Junior and secondary schools

On May 20th 2018 Thameslink and Southern train timetable changes. Passenger journeys in London and the south east have more than doubled in the last two decades. With such a growth Thameslink decided to reduce the number of trains on this route from 3 to 2. Both passing from Bedford with not enough capacity for the amount of passengers commuting on this route. In addition, the last train is at 5.55 not suitable for most City workers hence creating work issues work such huge working population. We need more trains!

These images are plastered all over the tube, buses, bus shelters, newspapers, magazines etc. Subliminally de-sensitising young minds that this is ok and the norm. Young minds and easily manipulated minds that see the hero carries a gun or knife. There has been 11 fatal shootings already this year in London, and endless knife attacks resulting in fatalities not to mention acid attacks. Though this may not be considered an important change we need to change the influence culture has. We can't change the films and games themselves but we can change the way they are sold to us, glorifying killing. And these small changes will contribute to the change in society. We wish to object to the proposed parking restrictions on the following grounds: 1 - Primarily Safety - the currently parked cars provide a very obvious traffic calming effect while the imposition of the restrictions would increase traffic speed and endanger local residents. 2 - The removal of the parking spaces would exacerbate the problem of the loss of all the parking we formerly enjoyed in the old Ashton House so that people particularly at the western end of Union Street frequently have to walk from the very opposite end of Union Street if they can find parking on the street at all. 3 - When the plans for the new estate were in planning and subject to consultation, traffic access to the estate was approved on the basis of the current layout. If it was acceptable then, why is it not acceptable now? 4 - As the meeting in February showed, the residents of Union Street are entirely against this proposed plan so for whose benefit is it?

This issue was brought up at my local Patient Practice Group of which I am Chairman. There were quite a number of instances reported by the committee who support this action unanimously. The following are two of my own experiences. 1. In December, 2017 I took my sister-in-law to Sunderland Hospital. She was unable to walk and there was no ambulance available. I parked at the accident & emergency and with my wife I got her out of the car and into a wheelchair. My wife pushed her into the hospital whilst I reversed my cat into a disabled parking bay. several days later I received a £70 fine Parking notice 2. In February 2018 i took my wife for a scan to North tees Hospital. After I dropped her off I parked my car and went to the parking meter. Unlike Sunderland their was a fee chargeable for disabled drivers. The first 20 minutes parking was free but after that there was a charge which if not paid was subject to a £90 fine. It is impossible to be able to assess that my wife would be able to receive her treatment within 20 minutes. I decided to pay for the parking. The cost was £3 for the first hour as well as for the next 11 hours. As it happened my wife did not have to wait and she had her scan and returned to the car. We were parked for exactly 26 minutes. I had paid the 12 hour fee for 6 minutes. I also was inconvenienced as I had no change and the meter did not take notes or give change. I had to go back into the hospital for change for the parking meter.
