STOP HUGE VODAFONE MAST IN WELLS RESIDENTIAL AREAThis proposed telecoms mast is huge (17.5 meter) and totally out of proportion with it's surroundings i.e. a residential area near the historic Wells city centre. It will dominate the skyline for many nearby. The mast and associated cabinets will affect pedestrian safety further in an already notorious black spot. The mast will emit a forever increasing amount of radio waves; local residents are very worried about possible negative effects on their health, and it is thought that children and elderly are even more vulnerable to the effects. There are several schools in the area and the mast will be sited along the school routes. We also need clarification of possible effects of other associated electro-magnetic radiation on residents living near a mast. The mast will lead to major value loss of the properties in the neighbourhood especially the ones near to the actual site. Local residents argue that the planning application may be in breach with their human rights of enjoyment of their property, in particular because it is thought that there are more suitable alternative sites in non-residential areas, so the service can be provided if this is seen as absolutely necessary in the interest of the wider public. In addition the installation of the mast will totally remove the individual's choice to be able to avoid exposure to the signals.640 of 800 SignaturesCreated by Niels Hak

Protect green space in LutonLuton is a small borough with a large population and one of the youngest populations in England --there needs to be a good amount of green open space for the enjoyment of all the residents in Luton. A large park (Wigmore Valley Park) is currently under threat of industrial development because it is close to Luton Airport. Luton currently has less than 50% of the recognized green open space for a town of its size and population.236 of 300 SignaturesCreated by Lawrence Patterson

Save children's play areaIt was left as a designated children's play area in the 1960's for the children of the estate. This would leave the children without any play area or green space on the whole estate.111 of 200 SignaturesCreated by Karen Scorer

Stratford Road, Wolverton. For the installation of Speed humps or Speeding CamerasLast year there was a fatal accident on Stratford Road, since then a young lad walking home from school was hit by a car. Does it take another fatality for action to be taken regarding some form of traffic calming? Living on SR, I see cars driving at very high speed everyday, if they clipped the curb they would take out a life. With the up and coming Wolverton Works the road is going to get even busier.11 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Zoe Sayer

Save our trees on 'Green' lanesThe council ignore resident concerns and is intent on pressing forward despite the transformation of our Winchmore hill into an ugly, congested, concrete jungle with decimated natural beauty and failing business. Enfield council presented false statements and visual plans of green lanes in their 'consultation for the cycle lane scheme - on the drawings no mention was made of tearing up and ripping out ten mature trees along our green lanes to date - and more to come. The residents of Winchmore hill did not agree to the replacement of beautiful mature trees with grey slabs of concrete - 'improving public spaces ' in the council's words. No effort has been made to protect the trees at all despite claims to the contrary . Worryingly letters have been put in local communications to inform residents of more trees 'necessary' to be removed . These were not presented as needing removal in the 'consultation' plans. We live in Winchmore hill because we chose to live amongst greenery and historical mature trees.472 of 500 SignaturesCreated by Maria Panayi

Save Our Community Spaces, MossleyThe recent threat to auction off some of Mossley's community spaces has revealed the urgency to gather support for these spaces, which once gone will never be replaced. Cosgrove Gardens, Greaves Street ( encompassing Mossley's community orchard and the car park at Cross Street ) were withdrawn from auction. Spring Street car park and gardens have also been withdrawn from auction and are in the process of being registered as a community asset. However, Tameside Metropolitan Borough Council will be reviewing all of these sites in the near future due to ongoing austerity that the council is facing. We are continuing to oppose the future sale of these public spaces and to ask that they be permanently removed from the list of land for sale so that these spaces can be continued to be enjoyed by the Mossley community. LET CAMDEN BE CAMDENThe chains are taking over Let Camden be Camden We are the owners of My Village, serving fresh daily food in a homely, rustic and handmade environment. For over 10 years we built My Village, with the help of all our family & friends, layer by layer, plank by plank, as a place which supports the community, its artists, hobbyists and love Offering my village walls for free to exhibit art work. This was not a mass produced 2nd world war cannon wheel, used by the British Army in the 2nd World War. The structure of the sitting area, we brought from a single English family, who had 80s, these pieces of wood, were recovered and restored. This farm was sold to their grandfather, and they discovered that these pieces of wood were from the Spain Armada war, and have been used in the farm in northern England, and neglected since the collapse, in the storm of 1984, we carefully restored the pieces of wood ourselves, and they are now hanging proudly in My Village Cafe. We don’t have WiFi we lose customers, base for social life, books, backgammon, socialise without the screen. The rest of My Village, is made from repurposed wood, from different sources, with equally interesting stories. We did this so we can weave history into the experience and bring it back to life for the Camden’s community. That’s why when you step into My Village you sense history and feel good Vibes. The journey has not been easy, we established My Village in 2006, in what was then a quiet part of Chalk Farm road, when the cafes and shops around us were struggling and shutting down. However, we survived and then later thrived thanks to the help of all our family, friends and customers. Now 10 year on, we are at risk of being shut down, and all that I described above, becoming forgotten history again. Most of Camden is being divided between a few private landlords, supported estate agents, and their aim is agree to raise all of the rent across Camden, making it impossible for independent small business owners to survive, your only chance of survival in this new world, is if you are major chain store, your own landlord or lucky enough to have a decent landlord who isn’t playing the game. This is not only about small business owners, but its also about the people and students of Camden not having access to affordable food & drink. The chains will reduce the quality, the originality of Camden, and raise its prices, making it just another conformist area of London, not letting Camden be Camden. As part of this wider game, our landlord has also started to demand an unrealistic rise in our rent, which would make it impossible for My Village to continue serving Camden. Camden is dominated by three landlords and Bruce estate agent and they are rising the rent to unbearable and unsustainable levels. Their aim is to push out small business and attract big chains to Camden . This would truly be terrible detrimental to this area . It would become another clone of many high street and loose the very uniqueness that has made it such a tourist magnet over so many decades. If you believe that, its our duty to protect Camden, if you believe that Camden should be as free as possible from Chains, if you believe that Camden should keep its history, its originality, if you believe that my village and many like it, should have a right to survive,to keep Camden not be converted to another common, soulless business area, then please sign this petition and lend your support to this cause. Urgent please help to save The Railway Inn FourstonesIf you remember in the last petition I outlined that this is the village pub, its been neglected by a succession of owners - I understand the community and others have offered to buy the pub, its a community asset that over 200 people signed this petition last time to keep it. There has been little done to make this into a viable going concern, but the current owner has applied to have it converted into a house. Has anyone really tried to make this pub work by connecting to the needs of the local community or was it never the intent to continue to run this as a pub all all ? Does this sound familiar ? It’s sad that the pub has been closed for such a long time - dont let it end up being closed for good - We need your help to stop this - please log on to Northumberland County Council Planning Website and make your voice heard against new Planning application No: 18/02349/FUL COMMENTS MUST BE MADE BY 30th AUGUST. If Planning is denied and the pub reopens, we need a partnership between the community and the owner in making this work.258 of 300 SignaturesCreated by Steve Scrimshaw

Keep our Award winning Cheddar Campsite open! Our family business Petruth Paddocks Campsite generates around £1M annual revenue for Cheddar and the surrounding area. Owing to the Environment Agency reclassifying our land as a flood risk, Sedgemoor Council have served an enforcement notice to shut us down from next year - the land has not flooded in living memory! We have Appealed this decision and a full Public Inquiry is due to take place in 2018 costing both us and the Council around £75,000 each! Even Somerset's Civil Contingency Officer - the person ultimately responsible for the safety of those in Somerset has put in writing: "I am satisfied that the proposal for the continuation of use of the land for camping does not put the public at risk, provided the warning measures laid out in the report are adhered to. I have no objections to this proposal” Read about why our retrospective planning permission was REFUSED here: http://www.sedgemoor.gov.uk/Planning_Online/Details.aspx?App=17/15/00037 Comments have to be made by August 10th it only takes a couple of minutes - just click on this link: https://acp.planninginspectorate.gov.uk/ and enter the case number: 3170189 thanks! We have over 2000 positive reviews and last year won four awards - one even sponsored by the Council trying to shut us down! Petruth Paddocks is an environment where kids can be kids and where the rest of us can step off the hamster-wheel of everyday life and simply chill-out - whatever that means to whoever you are but usually around a camp-fire delivered to your flap! As a family Petruth Paddocks is our passion and vocation - it's what we were created to do and we love it! Needham Market Train Station - Accessible To All!Despite significant ‘improvements’ to Needham Market Railway Station in recent years (costing over £700,000) access to the Ipswich-bound platform remains by steep underground stairway only – a physical challenge for passengers with limited mobility, with buggies, bikes, or heavy suitcases, and an impossibility for wheelchair users. Additionally, the new ramp from the car park to the Cambridge-bound platform is well above the maximum 1 in 12 gradient required to comply with Building Regulations, creating further significant problems for wheel chair users. Needham Market is a growing town with large new estates planned for hundreds of homes over the next few years. Abellio East Anglia Limited (trading as Greater Anglia) claims to be committed to complying with its obligations under the Equality Act 2010, and pledges to make its services accessible to all. Abellio has a ten year contract to run our trains and stations and so has no excuse not to make full access an urgent priority. Please sign our petition and support this local campaign. Thank you!630 of 800 SignaturesCreated by Terence Carter

PROTECT GREEN PUBLIC OPEN SPACES, HORLEY, SURREYThese 2 pieces of green situated between Landen Park and Arne Grove in Horley, Surrey, were designated as 'PUBLIC OPEN SPACES' when the housing estate was designed and built in the early 1970s. These green spaces are used and enjoyed every day by residents of all ages for activities such as walking, dog walking, cycling and playing. They have also been used for community celebrations such as for the Queen's Jubilees. The green areas provide a vital habitat for local wildlife including birds and bats. The space creates a visual break for residents, and these areas have been an important factor in many residents' decision to move into the estate over the last 40 plus years. This land is now being threatened with development. As residents we are already being impacted by the huge development to the north-west of us at the Westvale Park site. Building on these areas would bring even more traffic to two already crowded cul-de-sacs, creating risks for local children who play and walk these streets. For the health, well-being and sustainability of community and family life, and for the protection of local wildlife, we must protect these precious green spaces.173 of 200 SignaturesCreated by Philippa P
