• keep 387 running around ridge hill after the 9th of april!
as this is a large estate, ridge hill will have only 1 bus service running on the estate and expecting people especially those who are disabled like myself to walk 400meters to the hospital using the 389 which is ALWAYS FULL and no one likes to move to let us disabled sit down. i for one rely on the 387 to get directly into the hospital and i not being the only one thinks this is a disgrace. and all done without a public consultation!

  • Open the link road - Parkway to Kingfisher Way, Hinchingbrooke
To help alleviate chronic traffic congestion for residents and workers at Hinchingbrooke Hospital trying to leave the Hinchingbrooke Park area. Traffic congestion is a major problem that will only get worse when 100 new homes are built on the former forensic site by Persimmon Homes.

  • Free bus pass for under 16 years old
A general consensus to end youth social and wellbeing isolation by the council. Most parent find it hard to make payments for kids to engage in education, training and employment opportunities for their kids. To give more opportunities for engagement with the society's development of our children.

  • Stop Manchester Airport's proposed drop-off charging
Airports as a rule are already over-expensive and exploit captive-audiences who need to use them for air travel. There is no alternative if one wishes to fly. These privately-owned behemoths (not just Manchester Airport) kowtow to foreign shareholders where profitability and dividends seems to come before service to the public, who after all, are the life-blood of the airport. There will be absolute driver chaos in the airport as people try to avoid paying this punitive admission fee; there is already a £3 charge to taxi drivers to collect passengers from Terminal 1 which they pass on to the passenger. Only in the UK do airport owners get away with charging an admission tax.

  • Free travel pass for all people when they reach 60.
It is important to me because the current system allows people in Scotland,Wales, Northern Ireland and London to have a free travel pass for use on buses, train and tube. The same transport companies such as First buses and Virgin trains... provide transport across the UK. If it was a case of no one having a pass at age 60 I could accept that but, why only people living in England. It's a form of segregation that is unfair and wrong.

  • Special Education Needs and Disability school transport crisis: Waltham Forest
Families in Waltham Forest with children with special education needs and disability depend on existing transport provisions to get their children to school, either because they go to a special school which is further from home, or because of their disability they are unable to travel to school unaided. In February 2018 lots of children in Waltham Forest who had previously been eligible for transport to take them to school were suddenly refused transport. This includes children with autism, deafness, cerebral palsy and other disabilities. Families have had to go through the stress and worry of amounting appeals against the decisions. Some families have had transport reinstated after appeal. It is not clear how many children and families that are affected have not appealed, either because they are not able to appeal or do not know they have the right to appeal.

  • To Provide School Transport Provision to the Children of Birchgrove and Llwyncelyn
Many parents do not have cars and feel that it is both too far for young children to walk, especially in bad weather, and is also unsafe because of the busy roads along the route - despite officers stating otherwise. Does gan nifer o rieni ddim ceir, ac er gwaethaf honiadau am ddiogelwch y llwybrau gan swyddogion y Cyngor, credwn fod y daith yn rhy hir, yn enwedig mewn tywydd garw, ac yn rhy beryglus.

  • School Transport to Darran Park Primary and YGG Llyn y Forwyn for Blaenllechau pupils.
We feel that the distance from Blaenllechau to both schools in an unfair distance for a child to walk especially Infants aged children (3-7). This would be considerably worse in the Winter months. Also with some children in full-time and some in part-time this could means numerous trips to and from school in one day. Traffic around the school is already an issue and this could lead to further increase in traffic flow around the school. We feel no consideration has been taking in declaring the route to school as a "safe route". There are being no extra measures introduced to increase the safety of our children. Public transport is not an option as we only have one bus every hour, which would either make you 40 minutes early for school or 20 minutes late.

  • Urgent need for traffic lights at the lethal junction of Linley Lane/Linley Road - Alsager.
In 2001 Alsager resident Graham Lownes died at the age of 36 in a collision at the junction. His family asked for traffic lights to make the junction safer back then, they are still waiting 17 years later. Crashes happen regularly at that dangerous junction, with another one just last weekend. We want action from Cheshire East council now. We demand traffic lights to be installed with no further delay.

  • Let's get a safe crossing at Clermiston Primary
There have been a lot of near misses with pedestrians, I witnessed a cyclist being knocked off his bike at school pick up time. I have seen numerous car accidents (all be it minor ones) which could of been a child. I think campaigns to get parents to use their cars less has failed and unfortunately some people are still being selfish and parking in forbidden zones. An area to cross safely away from the chaos will potentially save a child's life. Let's get as many signatures as possible to tell the council that we want and need a crossing!

  • Stop Closure of Overground Ticket Offices in West Hampstead and Elsewhere
Our ticket offices provide an incredible valuable service to residents and to the many thousands of people who interchange between tube and other rail services every day. The helpful staff sell tickets for any rail journey in the UK. They provide an enquiry and Oyster top up service, to fill the gap left by the closure by Boris Johnson of our tube station ticket office. They provide help for the many visitors from abroad who travel through West Hampstead. Members of the local amenity group, West Hampstead Amenity & Transport, have told us that, if they could not easily buy mainline tickets, they would go by car instead. When our Tube ticket closed, the busy tube station at West Hampstead was - and still is - frequently left unstaffed with the barriers open. It seems that this was caused by former ticket office staff leaving and not being replaced. This in turn encourages crime and anti-social behaviour by allowing anyone to enter the system without a ticket. The same thing could happen on the Overground, which is one of the most successful rail projects anywhere in the country. TfL's website states that this is a “Modernisation of Customer Service”, whereas in fact no improvements are specified in the documents that they have supplied, and the move will worsen the service for passengers who need help and/or those who need to use a ticket office. The proposals appear to have been based on inaccurate figures for the number of tickets sold and they fail to reflect the value of having a national rail enquiry office in local communities. If this methodology were used on the whole national railway system, there would be hardly any railway ticket offices left across the whole country, and whole swathes of the UK would be without a retail facility for purchasing tickets. Finally, if the ticket office at West Hampstead is closed we've been told that the ticket office in the new West Hampstead Overground station will be built! The station is under construction at the moment, and the design of the station will be changed to exclude a ticket office from the building project. Therefore, we must fight the plans.

  • Free Parking in Wollaton Park
Because greater access to the park will improve and lengthen lives across the city. The regular parking charge in Wollaton Park is a tax on the people of the city impeding access to the health benefits of green space. An disincentive where there should be an incentive. Citing Michael Marmot, the team at Public Health England have written a report titled 'Local action on health inequalities: Improving access to green spaces'; quoting from the report directly, this is the Summary: 1. There is significant and growing evidence on the health benefits of access to good quality green spaces. The benefits include better self-rated health; lower body mass index, overweight and obesity levels; improved mental health and wellbeing; increased longevity. 2. There is unequal access to green space across England. People living in the most deprived areas are less likely to live near green spaces and will therefore have fewer opportunities to experience the health benefits of green space compared with people living in less deprived areas. 3. Increasing the use of good quality green space for all social groups is likely to improve health outcomes and reduce health inequalities. It can also bring other benefits such as greater community cohesion and reduced social isolation. 4. Local authorities play a vital role in protecting, maintaining and improving local green spaces and can create new areas of green space to improve access for all communities. Such efforts require joint work across different parts of the local authority and beyond, particularly public health, planning, transport, and parks and leisure. http://www.hullpublichealth.org/assets/PHE/Briefing8.pdf The council claim to raise £300,000 revenue from parking charges. They do not account for the capital or ongoing costs directly associated with collection of that revenue. The indirect cost to the cafes, attraction and shops within the park, from deterred customers is also not considered material by the council. Thinking long term, recognising that the council will continue to look after the people of the city for perpetuity and the rising cost of social care, would the books be better balanced with a healthier elderly population in 10, 20, 30, 100 years time? The charge should be removed.
