• Accurate testing and fair treatment for people with chronic Lyme disease
Recently, a number of high-profile people have been complaining that they have a chronic form of the disease that resists treatments and persists with severe symptoms - but such a condition is not widely accepted by doctors. Others have talked about Lyme disease being under-diagnosed or being the root cause of other illnesses. But the idea of a Lyme infection that is not completely treated and lingers for years is controversial. Most doctors say that the vast majority of people with the disease, if caught early, can be treated completely with just a short course of antibiotics. "There is no consensus over whether chronic Lyme actually exists. This needs to change. Many patients with Lyme disease remain ill after antibiotic treatment or receive no treatment at all due to doctors who treat them poorly, refuse to diagnose or Misdiagnose as other diseases. Thousands of people suffer daily, Some misdiagnosed as other illnesses after a weak- positive or negative test. Often health professionals ignore history of symptoms leading them to treat themselves in pain with no ongoing support. Lyme disease & associated co-infections can be often misdiagnosed as ME/Chronic fatigue syndrome /rheumatoid arthritis or mental illness. We need to understand why some patients respond to treatment and others don’t. We also need to understand how Lyme disease progresses, how co-infections affect the illness, how the disease is transmitted, and which treatments are the most effective. The ultimate goal is to improve the quality of life for patients with Lyme disease based on fair and affordable treatment /testing with doctors that are knowledgeable on the disease and its Co-infections.

  • Save local greengrocers & butchers
Supermarkets are creating an extremely large amount of food waste due to over buying, they force unfair conditions upon farmers/growers and care nothing for small traditional family run grocers / butchers. If something is not controlled now - the uk will loose its traditional stores within a few years.

  • BARNFIELD RESIDENTS' APPEAL
The funding of £1m was given to this area in 2012 over a 10 year period and one main priority should be education for our children and young people, there has been a great demand for supplementary education but we cannot afford to fund this ourselves. Whilst the funds for this Big Local Area has been inappropriately allocated to pay Big Local Co-ordinator’s salary, run activities and events that attempt to address short term needs of some members of the community to the detriment of Barnfield children education. We therefore solicit that the Barnfield Big Local funding subsequently be allocated in a way that prioritise our children’s education.

  • GMB - Stop Supporting Fracking
Fracking has been proved to be destructive to the environment and to peoples health. Instead of promoting the use of this filthy and dangerous process ,the GMB should be campaigning to further increase the use of renewable energy sources which will result in the creation of many jobs, including for their own membership. The 21st Century demands a proper response to the issue of rampant climate change and this response would be enhanced with the support of all of the major trades unions.

  • Resident parking spaces and junction box in Killin drive
People block up our street so much that an ambulance wouldn’t get in for the severely disabled child living in a house at the end. Parking for the people who actually live there not people visiting Academy house offices. Reduced speed limit to stop them speeding through street before someone is knocked down!

  • MASSIVE NO TO UK SECURITY PRIVATISATION PLANS!
In the UK we are being edged to 'obedience' at all costs, by our media and by the way we are being divided and taught to hate each other. WE need to act together to protect our rights and liberties. Just a couple of examples follow- please read. 'The multinational security company G4S failed to maintain basic human rights standards and protect asylum seekers from harm, the complaint lodged to the Organisation for Economic Co-Operation and Development.' There has been massive "ankle tagging" fraud by BOTH companies. 'Inappropriate' youth restraint where 14 CHILDREN were assaulted (fines were made against them) and were 'found responsible for the outbreak of violence at Manos Island detention centre but never held to account' (The Telegraph, The Guardian). The proposal to allow powers of arrest to Serco and G4S, private companies who have broken laws and acted inhumanely sends a shudder down the spine. Not only does the privatisation of 'security' smack of fascism- these faceless companies are for profit- not for our welfare The powers that government award themselves in suggesting this go way above their remit- many of the government have interests in these (and other privatising companies) but once again who asked us? We really need to make some noise and be in agreement that we won't let this happen. Let the government go back to the money tree and find the required amounts to recruit and train more police- because if we need more 'security' then the providers should belong to the UK, not be in private profit making hands. Following the appalling sights around the world and most recently the heinous operations in Spain against the Catalonian's and their democratic rights- the image of men hidden by full face 'protective' helmets is enough to make us realise what could happen here. Once they have this power it can not be taken back- who wants to live under the threat of those guys turning up whenever we 'disobey'? Think it couldn't happen here? Want to wait and find out- or spend a few moments to tick this petition showing disapproval and demanding a great big 'NO' to this proposal.
