The landlords have decided they want to sell our beloved pub to developers and make it into houses. They have given the Railway Inn just 6-months’ notice before it’s shut down. The pub has here for several decades, the owners don’t want to leave and we want to keep our pub. I myself have been coming here for over 18 years. This is the centre of our community and the heart of the estate. This is the place we call the "office". This is the place we all meet. You cannot close it down!

Reducing the amount of rubbish that goes to landfill and encouraging recycling is in everyone's interest. We should be looking after the environment for future generations. If Windsor and Maidenhead can do it, why can't Wokingham? People should be encouraged to recycle. The facilities are available to recycle these products and Wokingham Borough Council has a moral responsibility to enable people to recycle as much as possible.

A decision will be taken this week on whether a "lifeline" service for hundreds of armed forces veterans will be forced to close its Grampian base. Eight Veterans First Point centres were set up in Scotland using cash from the UK government's Libor fund. But that money is running out and local health boards are now covering costs - with help from the Scottish government. NHS Grampian has now said it is unable to continue to fund the service. Veterans first point is a NHS run service to help veterans. It enables veterans to get help quickly for all sorts of problems, but mental health is the biggest. Without it veterans can be waiting over 12 months for help by which far to many will have committed suicide. These veterans have served you it is time you served them.

Any approval to build, is one that has huge negative impacts, to the open space and special character of our coastline forever, the impact to the cliff integrity/stability. The photo shows a site highlighted as being built on, this build is now seeking approval for unapproved works. It is important because in 2015 over 1,000 people signed an online petition through change.org ( Protect Newquay Clifftops) to two applications to build on gardens at Island Crescent, Newquay. There were further objections made to Cornwall Council. This lead to one application ( front garden) being REFUSED by Cornwall Council, then taken to at appeal by the applicants and Dismissed by the Inspector. The other application ( rear garden)being WITHDRAWN. Yet they have built to that plan anyway!? Since then the applications have continued and concerns about them and their content raised to the planning department. Now a second APPEAL PENDING on the front garden. The applications have not stopped, with the applicant not adhering to two permissions on the rear garden.Leading to enforcement action, RETROSPECTIVE PLANNING PERMISSION PENDING to be decided early September. We need Sajid Javid MP, and Michael Gove MP. to: Protect our treasured and unique coastline and support: 1) The public voice of the community and wider. 2) Newquay Town Council. 3)Our Mayor past and present 4)The members of Cornwall Council Planning department against cliff top development ( last vote on most recent application 12-2 against proposal to build) 5)The Planning Inspector on reasons for his previous decision to Dismiss the application 6)Our local MP Steve Double 7) Facebook page Protect Newquay Clifftops This area once protected by the policies of the Restormel Borough Plan no longer are until the NNP is is in place. We need it not to fall into an area of no protection that would allow it to be built on. These are garden grabbing applications, this is not "brownfield land" and should not be seen as such. The National Planning Policy Framework encourages the community to engage, to have voice within its community. Please help the voice of this community and wider that seek to protect, preserve the coastal fringe of Newquay get the weight required to give credit to the development stages of the Newquay Neighbourhood plan to Protect our coastline from such proposals.

Nuclear warheads are regularly transported in convoys on public roads to and from the atomic weapon factories at Aldermaston and Burghfield, and RNAD Coulport on Loch Long, where the weapons are stored and loaded onto Trident submarines. A nuclear warhead contains radioactive material AND high explosive and this poses serious questions about public safety. Nukewatch has published a report ‘Unready Scotland’ based on the very unsatisfactory answers to a survey of all the Local Authorities that these convoys pass through. The Civil Contingencies Act requires Category 1 Responders (including Local Authorities) to conduct a risk assessment of potential threats and to keep the public informed. It also makes the Scottish Government responsible for making sure that Local Authorities comply. If there was a serious accident the Ministry of Defence would look after the nuclear weapon. Local Councils, Emergency Services and the Health Service would be responsible for potentially contaminated casualties, evacuating people nearby and advising many more to stay indoors. Nukewatch’s survey finds that many councils don’t know anything about these convoys. We want the Scottish Government to openly review how prepared the civil authorities are and inform the public about their findings. Then the people of Scotland can decide whether this transport poses an unacceptable risk.

A group of mothers and midwives who care about quality maternity care have come together to start this petition. Last week, the major newspapers all ran high profile stories saying that Midwives were no longer supporting 'normal' birth, portraying it as a climb down. Midwives were attacked for 'pushing normal birth at any cost' and the support for normal birth was even linked with 'unsafe' care and neonatal death in the Times leader. We were also appalled to find Jeremy Hunt's tweets supporting this line and complimenting a prominent campaigner against 'normal' birth. These stories were damaging to women's choice and the work of midwives in delivering evidence based care. Moreover, they were contrary to the evidence and inaccurrate. The Birthplace Survey looking at 65 000 births showed that midwifery-led environments delivere safe care to mothers and babies and better outcomes for low risk women and babies. Only 57% of Low Risk healthy women have a normal birth in an obstetric led unit. All midwifery led environments ensure over 80% of healthy low risk women have a normal birth. Midwives deliver choices and quality of care - Better Births recognises this and wants all healthy women to have access to midwifery led care environments. The Lancet Series is internationally acclaimed research looking at the importance of midwifery care in a range of environments across the world. Midwives deliver safe evidence based care to all risks of women in a range of environments and improve outcomes in doing so. This is the evidence and it needs to be recognised and acknowledged by Jeremy Hunt to ensure that women have access to a midwfe they know and trust to support them along their maternal pathway. Better Births is about delivering quality maternity care to all women and their families whatever their situation. It is not about delivering normal birth to every woman and baby. Women of all risks need good quality care and especially those struggling with physical and mental health challenges. The attacks on midwifery do nothing to ensure high risk women and babies receive the care they need - midwives are an important part of care for high risk women and babies too. Finally anyone who knows anything about anything knows that the biggest cause of infant mortality is poverty. By contrast evidence shows continuity of midwifery carer helps reduces miscarriage, premature birth and still birth rates. It is time that this was publically acknowledged by Jeremy Hunt and others. Jeremy Hunt should have been aware of all this when he was tweeting and discussing maternity in public and we as mothers and midwives are very disappointed at his lack of understanding, and his lack of commitment to evidence-based care. We are disappointed at his casual attitude to midwives who seek to deliver quality of care and choice to all women. We are also concerned that his expressed opinion demonstrates a lack of commitment to delivering Better Births that will ensure the majority of women have access to the midwifery-led care that maximises their chances of having a safe normal birth and beyond. A normal birth remember, is by definition, the safest birth you can have. Jeremy Hunt, we ask you to stand with evidence-based care and the midwifery profession. And to publically commit your Government to delivering on the recommendations of the National Maternity review in Better Births. We commend this petition to you.

In a time of so many pub closures, we feel that BeerHeadz would provide a licenced premises to the area that will compliment the existing pubs/bars in the Bailgate area. If allowed to trade they'll provide employment in the area, promote Lincoln through pub tourism helping out local transport and eateries. Being free of Tie, they'll also be able to support the local brewery scene. They'll promote responsible drinking in a controlled environment, much more than the less controlled off sales from the supermarkets!

Mr Hunt keeps criticising Stehen Hawking's understanding of reading scientific evidence in relationship to the future of the NHS. (he uses the medium of twitter for this.). However, cool twitter can be, a proper debate is what is needed. And Stephen Hawking is the prefect person to speak on behalf of the NHS. And Jeremy Hunt is the perfect person to speak on behalf of the government.

The future of any football Club is important. The Club could and should be by run by the people, for the people.

Hundreds of Ford cars that use their “Keyless” entry and start, are being stolen each week. Most of these being people’s pride and joy, with normally hundreds and thousands being spent on their cars. Ford are ignoring the issue and they should be held responsible! Every day on social media we are seeing Ford cars, like the RS and ST models being stolen in seconds, and this needs to stop, or make it harder for the thieves! I honestly couldn’t imagine how it must feel to wake up in the morning and see your vehicle not there. Insurance premiums are going up for these type of vehicles and most owners work bloody hard to own and maintain one, so why should little scum bags be able to steal them so easily and so quickly!

Unconventional oil and gas extraction (“fracking”) will have an impact on our countryside, climate and local communities. It uses vast quantities of fresh water and chemicals and, as we have seen in America and Australia, this type of extraction has a detrimental impact on our natural resources, the environment, health, noise and air pollution, traffic and local communities. Fracking has also been known to cause earthquakes. The people of Sefton do not want this type of extraction taking place in any part of the borough.
