Thanks to the Government's 'Right to Buy' Policy, local government are forced to offer Social Housing at heavily discounted prices - at approximately up to 70% of value - to elderly, disabled and vulnerable residents in Independent Living Accommodation; thus reducing the housing stock in Social Housing overall. Affordable Housing is only offered at 20% of value which most cannot afford. If residents cannot get social housing, either through an association or the council, they are forced into the more expensive - ON AVERAGE 4 TIMES AS MORE - private renting. For example: In the last six months, 130 Independent Living Accommodation Sites have been lost, never to replaced, amounting to 2% of the current total Social Housing within the Stroud Area alone; an issue that is being replicated across the United Kingdom.

Last year Poole council decreased our bin collections resulting in bins covered in maggots and flies. In the height of summer many of us couldn't open windows or let our children play in the garden. We don't want to endure this again. Bournemouth and Purbeck councils have got theirs, we want PBC to give us ours.

The younger generations of now and the future are becoming increasingly restricted to play the game that dominates our sporting world. Their desire to play and fulfil their dreams of becoming the professional players of the future are hampered by a lack of suitable pitches to play on. Waterlogged unsuitable pitches are on the increase due to lack of funding, making this 'winter sport' only possible in 'fairer' weather conditions. The Premier League continues to grow and will generate over £5bn in the next 3 seasons in broadcasting rights. The Government must encourage the FA to ensure that 7% of this goes to fund grassroots football nationwide but our pledge is to secure funding for Merseyside. How do we encourage the future generations of football that their dream is possible when there are fewer and fewer suitable places to play? As a nation we invest in and support our teams at the stadiums, through broadcasting, buying their merchandise in addition to sharing the joys of victory and never losing hope with losses, surely its time for something in return to ensure that the youth of today can be given every opportunity to develop into potentially our future professionals.

This is important to the community because for a variety of years prior to now people have had to travel to swim and enjoy themselves, in which is difficult for people in certain circumstances lately. It is important for people who have children as they may not be able to travel so far or may not be able to afford to travel so far and pay for a swim also. This is important for those who don't drive. This is simply because it is easy to attend to and it is easy to pay public transport too if we had one much close to home. This is also important to those with disabilities. Simply because their carers may not be able to travel so far with the wheelchairs and walkers etc and may not be able to travel certain distances with their family members. This is important because people in certain situations like these could use these fun pools for education of some sort and would benefit from this increasingly! Persons like these are missing out on bundles of fun! Yes we have swimming pools in and around Bolton but each and every single one is basic. We want a swimming pool with slides and inflatables to be able have fun with instead of swimming lengths back and forth for hours! We want somewhere to swim with friends and family, we want somewhere to swim and have fun with these people and somewhere to make more memories! This would also create a variety of job opportunities for those who are looking to be employed and would also benefit from this too.

The Cardiff Arms Fair described on their website as the “UK’s Premier Defence Procurement Event” is being hosted annually at the Cardiff Motorpoint Arena. One of their main exhibitors is BAE Systems, the world’s 3rd largest arms producer. We need to protest against such an event being held in Wales and show our opposition to the arms trade.

Banksy is a globally celebrated artist who gave a work of art to Hull. People came from all over the city and beyond to see it on Scott Street Bridge and it was celebrated in the media, locally and nationally. When it was defaced soon after it appeared there was an outpouring of dismay and disappointment. A local couple restored it and now it needs protecting at least with varnish or better still with a Perspex covering. We ask Hull City Council to recognise, value and protect this significant work of art.

Many pedestrians use this road, for walking to school, walking dogs or walking to/from the village. The lack of footpaths coupled with speeding cars or ones that do not give necessary space when oncoming makes it a treacherous stretch to walk.

Council bullies in solar loo grab! Local residents face a David and Goliath battle with Hackney Council to retain ownership of the community restored Brooksby’s Walk public convenience. The Council plan to terminate the community’s lease on 8th February. Residents re-opened the toilets serving Chatsworth Road, left closed by the Council for 30 years. After a long campaign and formation of the Clapton Improvement Society, they were granted a 5year lease in 2013, with the promise of a 100year peppercorn lease to follow. The Society raised funds from the Lottery and loans from members to renovate the toilets and convert the gents to a café/restaurant to pay for their maintenance. The current operator is David Bez’s Pride Kitchen, a vegetarian café. Altogether more than £40,000 has been invested. Clapton has Britain’s only luxury sustainable solar powered free public toilets as a result. But from the beginning, the Council has made life difficult for the volunteers. Officials raised a series of petty complaints about the works done by local contractors. Building inspectors demanded an expensive sprinkler system and then didn’t issue the certificate after completion of the works. A local councillor raised unverified complaints about the café and persuaded the licensing committee to refuse an extension of hours, which had been granted planning permission after an appeal to the independent planning inspectorate. Now the Council’s estates department is seeking to terminate the community’s ownership on wholly spurious grounds (including not having the building completion certificate) without any plans to keep the toilets open. “It’s an outrage!” says Society secretary Mary Doyle. “ As someone who is wheelchair fast, this is the only local toilet I can use”. “The Council has always resented our campaign to re-open the toilets and provide decent facilities on the street. Now they want to steal our community asset. Far from helping community initiatives as they boast in glossy reports, they undermine, bully and ignore them when they can.” PLEASE SIGN THE PETITION!
