  • Ban the use of Non-Disclosure Agreements by Employers who have breached The Equalities Act
The Government want to get 1 million disabled people back in to work, but we as a community face bullying and harassment that is routinely covered up and victims gagged. I was bullied repeatedly and then bullied again to take the deal - threatened with no reference if I don't. I need to work, want to work and am very capable. British businesses have been negligent in my case and have paid me more than £100k to not go to tribunal. With no reference and a family to support, I had no choice but to take the deal, and nothing has changed. Settlement agreements have their place in business, but should not be used to gag victims of a crime. Employment tribunals should be available to hear these case and 'educate' businesses as best they can. NDA's are a cover-up, a way for a business to protect it's image and limit the damage. The human impact for me is so much greater, money can't fix it for me.

  • Save Heysham Swimming Pool.
Cllr Margaret Pattison, Cllr Janice Hanson, Cllr Darren Clifford and Cllr David Whittaker are very concerned with living in a seaside area such as Morecambe and Heysham that children should have a local pool to learn to swim. The pool has 54.000 visitors a year with 16 schools using the pool for swimming lessons and groups helping people to keep fit and healthy, if closed this would effect the health and safety of the people in Morecambe.

  • Referendum on the final terms on which the UK will leave the European Union
The EU referendum represented a low point in post war UK democratic politics. Only now are problems coming to the fore that were not considered in the referendum and not debated at the time. Oeople did not know the consequences of them and Brexit impact reports are being unacceptably hidden from the people. This is unacceptable and we need a final decision when we know exactly what Brexit means and that means the full terms of an any deal.

  • PADDOCK HOUSE
Paddock House is a derelict care home in the centre of the beautiful market town of Eye. It is on the site of a historic public green space. We demand that there is due public consultation and discussion before any commercial development is considered. There is huge potential to restore and upgrade the existing buildings to provide essential housing and amenities for our town.

  • Have a Limit on Standing for Workers
Standing for long periods of time at work can cause many health problems, including pain in many areas of the body (such as the back, legs and hips) as well as varicose veins, problems during pregnancy, heart and circulation issues and more. This does not even begin to cover the issues people with existing health conditions may face. More than eleven million workers in the UK are standing for a prolonged period of time, risking their health and unable to take the weight off of their feet.

  • Penglais Sixth Form Lesson Cuts
Most other schools have 9 sessions per lesson over the course of two weeks, and some have 8, but Penglais only have 7 due to funding. It is important to have at 9 or at least 8 over two weeks as when it comes to exams we will be less prepared than other schools in Wales, and if they score higher marks in the exams, overall we will fall below and not get the results we deserve. The study sessions that have been used as a replacement do not offer the support of the classes to help towards exams

  • Introduce bus service from Dundee to Stratheden Hospital
Hundreds of students (nursing, medical and allied health professions) are placed at this hospital a year from Dundee University, Dundee & Angus College and Abertay University (and the surrounding area) and using public transport can take up to two hours to get there and back even though it is only a 30/40 minute journey. Its not only students who would benefit from this, stratheden has staff, visitors and patients who would find this bus route useful. At present, anyone getting to Stratheden Hospital via public transport has to get a bus from the hospital into the town centre of Cupar (which only runs once an hour so you often have to resort to a taxi) and then wait to get either a train into Dundee or another bus. The hospital itself plays a big role in mental health care within NHS Scotland but is currently facing a staffing shortage and from personal experience I believe this has a lot to do with how unaccessible the hospital and as many of you may know, staffing & student shortages leads to poor care delivery. I urge anyone who works at the hospital, is a student and understands the struggles of travelling to placement, someone who understands how important good staffing levels within the NHS are or just anyone who wants to support the cause to please sign this petition. Thank you.
