Save Great Yarmouth MarketThis will be detrimental to all of the stalls, financially and through loss of footfall. During the work we will be expected to trade on what will basically be a building site. Some of the older traders have been through this before and do not want to repeat it again. With this uncertainty those who want to retire are finding that their business is un sellable. The empty stalls are not being taken up as no one wants to invest in something that might not be worth anything if they make us move. A lot of traders have within the last 2 years invested a lot of money into their stalls. If we have to move there is no guarantee that we will own our stall, but more likely that we will have to rent it from the council, meaning that we all loss what is the biggest asset of the business. The chip, fish, meat, etc stalls have specialist equipment that is not sellable or moveable. It seems that the council officers are throwing away good money / tax payers money on something that has been shown by other markets that doesn’t work. As stall holders we would prefer that the money was used to regenerate the market in its current location, to pay for a reasonable cleaning and maintance schedule (which they apparently do, but we see no signs of it), and a competent market manager.1,353 of 2,000 SignaturesCreated by Diane Haworth

Zebra crossing for our busy main road for safetyA little girl was ran over tonight in rush hour sadly she’s not the first this has happened to and may not be the last! A friend of ours was also ran over on that road in the same place couple years ago! There is a lot of children around this area as there is 2 primery schools on both sides not far from Liverpool road with also no school crossing (lolly pop). We’d like as many people to help get the concil to do this! For the safety of our community. As a friend has spoke to a PCSO and was told they’d need more fatalities to happen to go ahead which I think is wrong!! I’d like for this to happen ASAP so nothing else awful happens !657 of 800 SignaturesCreated by Rhiannon-Leigh McDaid New

Save 'The Venue Bar' from closing at 8pmThe university are seeking to minimise costs, by taking security and reception off the entrance to the student union earlier, resulting in an 8pm close. However a campus bar shouldn't solely be about making a profit, it should be a place for students to come together, meet and socialise in an area that caters for everyones needs. While building the all important 'campus community', which is vital as such a small percentage of students live onsite. Speaking from personal experience The Venue bar allowed me to have a place to drop by and make friends last year, in the little time I had outside of lectures and commuting I spent a lot of time there socialising and doing group work. As do many other students in my position. From here I met countless people who would go on to have a positive impact on not only my social life but also being greatly beneficial to talk to each week about university and work related opportunities. With the majority universities closing their student bars at much later times (on average 11pm), therefore allowing for greater time and effort to be put into events being held. We are paying for our student experience and by closing the campus bar we are missing out on that experience.110 of 200 SignaturesCreated by Michael Barrett

Zebra crossing for st Marys schoolThis is so important because since the new Mersey gateway bridge has been built we now have new road layout in the area which is making more traffic use this road. The road already has a 20mph speed limit on it but drivers do not take any notice. There have been many accidents and collisions in the past year on this road due to speeding. We would like a safe crossing and more enforcement on the speed limit before someone is knocked down and killed.102 of 200 SignaturesCreated by Collette Shaw

Keep George St, HOVE traffic free until 6pm in the summer monthsBrighton and Hove City Council have voted on a trial period of opening up the road to traffic at 4pm from April 2018 for a seven month period. We point out to the council that even one child knocked over by a car whilst walking along this currently pedestrianised street is one child too many. A public consultation took place in 2015 on this same issue and the Council decided not to change the traffic-free times as 'A number of road safety issues were identified' and '85% of the public who responded to the consultation did NOT want any change to the times'. We, the undersigned believe that the safety and health of the many city residents who shop in George St should be of utmost importance and that the current pedestrianisation of George Street in the summer months up to 6pm should be upheld.605 of 800 SignaturesCreated by Mitchie Alexander

Save Marple WharfMarple was created by the canals. Generations have walked and boated along them, fed the ducks, or just stopped and stared. It makes us who we are. The centre is the Wharf where three canals meet. Above all, this is a public place of shared heritage and experience. A developer has submitted a planning application on behalf of the Canal and River Trust to convert the warehouse to a house which means it would be lost to the community forever. The community cannot afford the inflated price CRT have demanded for the warehouse. More information: http://www.marplecivicsociety.org.uk/News.html Please object directly to application DC/067000 to the Council too: http://planning.stockport.gov.uk/PlanningData-live/applicationDetails.do?activeTab=dates&keyVal=OVJXKCPJGLS001,442 of 2,000 SignaturesCreated by Peter Black

Part-Time Traffic lights at Main Street, Gunthorpe on A6097The traffic on A6097 is too heavy during rush hour, and even with a 40mph speed limit, oncoming traffic is travelling too fast to stop and allow vehicles to cross the road to turn right. The lack of traffic lights at this junction creates a dangerous situation for both the vehicle trying to exit the village and any moving vehicles stopping to allow vehicles to join the A6097 towards Lowdham. The school run being the worst time of the day and with queuing traffic behind, drivers are put under pressure to take risks so they can join A6097. In addition to unnecessary danger, the extended time it also takes to exit the village is currently putting new parents off joining the school.135 of 200 SignaturesCreated by Lindsey Palmer

Use cycle training to teach road safety to all new driversThis would enable new drivers to understand the benefits and vulnerabilities of being on a bicycle, improving road safety for everyone. It would also improve the skills and awareness of those adults most likely to cycle on urban roads at peak times. Thirdly, it would enable many more people to experience cycling as an adult and encourage them to see the opportunities it presents for clean, cheap and easy transport.123 of 200 SignaturesCreated by Steve Walker

Stop the closure of toilets in Clacton, Jaywick and WaltonClacton, Walton and Jaywick are popular holiday destinations, the area is trying to attract more holidaymakers, how can we expect them to come to the beaches if there are no toilets to use? This is especially important for people with young children, the elderly and the disabled. Tendring also has a large population of elderly and vulnerable people, who may have a problem with incontinence or mobility, they should be able to have easy access to toilets when they need them. Not being able to reach a toilet in time results in loss of dignity and distress, whatever your age, the closure of toilets that are vital for residents and holidaymakers is not acceptable.1,154 of 2,000 SignaturesCreated by Sheila Hammond

Save Reading Central Club!Reading Borough Council are threatening to knock down the Central Mural and sell the building to commercial developers. The Mural is an important both as a piece of Art and as a memorial to the lives of people significant in African, Afro-American, Caribbean and black British History. It reminds us (accurately) that some pharaohs were black. (If it is ever extended in size it could now usefully add a major Russian Novelist and an American President!). It would be a huge loss to us if we lose it and an insult to the many Reading Residents from Barbados, Jamaica, East and West Africa and elsewhere. Personally I am scots of Irish and English descent and I love that mural620 of 800 SignaturesCreated by John Roy

We need a bridge with pedestrian lifts at Abergavenny StationThis station is on the mainline route from Swansea/Cardiff to Manchester and Holyhead, and serves a huge area of Monmouthshire and South Powys, the Brecon Beacons and Black Mountains as well as the town of Abergavenny. There are 2 ways to reach the far platform at Abergavenny. One is by a steep footbridge which has 45 steps and is difficult to negotiate, especially in bad weather. The other is to cross the line, accompanied by a member of staff. If you wish to do the latter, then you are expected to phone to notify your request to travel at least 24 hours beforehand. If you wish to travel out of office hours, there will be no members of staff at the station and you are dependent on the guard or the driver of the arriving train to accompany you across the line. So much for spontaneity of travel for many people! We want a bridge with passenger lifts to give full access for disabled passengers, older people and those with heavy luggage. 30% of the population in Monmouthshire is over 60. We were granted the money and planning permission for the bridge about 5 years ago. It never happened because Network Rail could not work out what to do about the position of the signal because the driver’s view of it would be blocked by the new bridge. We demand that Network Rail solve this problem, find the resources and, either replace or resite the signal in order that work on a bridge and lifts can commence. This is not just important to local people; Abergavenny station is used by visitors to major events such as The Food Festival and the Green Man Festival, the Hay Festival, and the 2016 National Eisteddfod. All these events bring visitors and revenue into the area. If you believe, like the organisers of this petition, that this situation is not good enough and that there should be equal access for all at the station, please sign this petition.1,118 of 2,000 SignaturesCreated by Abergavenny Rail Access Campaign
