Stop the Burmester Road mobile mastHave you noticed the new metal cabinets at the end of Burmester Road? They are part of Vodafone's plan to build a 15 metre mobile phone mast on the corner with Garratt Lane. You may have heard about this before. The original plan for the Burmester Mast was opposed by numerous local residents and rejected by Wandsworth Council in December 2016. Vodafone have always been well aware of this. Thanks to a legal loophole, Vodafone consider they can build the Burmester Mast anyway, within metres of Burmester House, despite the objections of local residents. Indeed, they sent the diggers in at the end of August to start work by building the cabinets. Mobile phone companies such as Vodafone should listen to local residents. There are acres of industrial use land on the far side of Garratt Lane where the mast could be situated, which would still give us better 4G coverage. Wandsworth Council are trying to find alternative sites, but Vodafone consider that legally they could still build the Burmester Mast. If we unite, we can stop this. If you want your voice to be heard, please sign this petition calling on Vodafone to relocate the Burmester Mast. It will only take 30 seconds.....165 of 200 SignaturesCreated by Local Residents

Stop Furness Park Closures. The council announced plans at the start of September to close 5 local parks in an attempt to save £13,247. These park closures are at the expense of our whole community. It is difficult enough for children to find safe areas to play without removing the places built for that exact purpose. It is so important that we don't let the council destroy our local play areas, depriving children of the chance to socialise and mingle with others; to let off some steam, to keep fit and active. Please sign this petition to show support for keeping the Furness area's public parks open! Protect the existing Green Belt within Dudley Metropolitan Borough1) To protect Green Belt Countryside, on the urban fringe, and Green Wedges that form wildlife and open space corridors into the urban areas. 2) To protect a valuable recreational resource that Dudley Council have hitherto promoted for public pleasure; its landscape, historic, nature conservation and cultural values. 3) To protect the individuality and distinctive character of the areas and communities 4) To further the strategy of urban regeneration by focussing attention upon renewal of derelict and previously developed brownfield sites. 5) Dudley Borough has sufficient land within the urban area to satisfy its housing and industrial requirements to the year 2036 and beyond. 6) The Green Wedges satisfy the function of preventing the coalescence of former Towns within the Borough. 7) Exceptional circumstances do not exist to warrant the release of Green Belt land for built development. 8) The inappropriate release of Green Belt land would damage the confidence of the public in respect of the designation of Green Belt.4,320 of 5,000 SignaturesCreated by Mick Freer

Save our beautiful tree in Village Rd West Kirby - keep the TPOThis beautiful tree adds so much to the local area, is home to lots of wildlife and has been here over seventy years. We love it. It is stable, has already lost a lot of its neighbours on the site and there are few trees of this stature left in our area. Please take our views into consideration when making your decision on any TPO removal requests.174 of 200 SignaturesCreated by Bob Glass

No Gasification Plant in WashingtonWe the local residents are opposed to the plans for a gasification plant being built on our doorsteps. The increase in traffic to feed the plant would greatly compound Washington's congested roads, additional concerns are the litter, pests & vermin, air quality, odours, noise, safety, health, and effect on the environment that this development would bring. The plant could be disastrous both environmentally and economically for Washington. There are proven technologies, better than incineration which can also produce energy with significantly less pollution. We, the residents of Washington do not want this imposed on our community. We, the local population, our families and our children would have to live with the consequences for many years to come. This would not only effect the residential areas of Washington, it will also impact local business, schools and neighbouring areas of Sunderland. Please sign the petition your support counts!2,922 of 3,000 SignaturesCreated by No Gasification Plant in Washington

Get a pedestrian crossing for Lancaster Road, Hinckley, Leicestershire. This is very important because it is very dangerous & extremely busy. A mother with a child in a pushchair already had an accident there & there is nowhere safe to cross at all. I am sure if they don't do this soon, there could even be fatalities.485 of 500 SignaturesCreated by Louise Crisp

Make housing developers be transparent in SalfordCurrent planning law states that if a developer will make less than 20% profit on a new development, they can ignore a council's regulations about building affordable and social housing. Leaked documents from several developers have shown that the maths they use to work out their profit margins are purposefully misleading, allowing them to claim they will make less than 20% profit on a development by undervaluing the prices of the houses they will sell and over-costing the labour. To combat this Islington, Greenwich, Lambeth and Bristol councils have introduced a policy that forces developers "viability assessments" to be made public. By bringing these dodgy maths into the public domain, Councils, campaigning groups and individuals will be able to hold developers to account and force them to use more honest maths. The Salford Star estimates that over 1,000 affordable properties have been lost to the city via these 'viability' get out clauses, plus over £40million in planning fees and obligations. Barratt Homes even acknowledged the controversy that surrounds the avoidance of fees by developers... "We note the Council has supported residential developments based upon viability to support a reduced contribution, and this can be met with local political and community unease" See these Salford Star articles to read how Salford Council cocked it all up: http://www.salfordstar.com/article.asp?id=2770 http://salfordstar.com/article.asp?id=3534 http://www.salfordstar.com/article.asp?id=3574 ...And then please sign this petition...151 of 200 SignaturesCreated by Stephen Kingston

Fight for our FieldsAll over Britain cash strapped local authorities are selling off playing fields to companies for housing to be built. South Tyneside is no exception. Our green spaces are vanishing. South Tyneside has one of the lowest amounts of green space in the country. 46% of south tyneisde is built on comapred to a 6% national average. Our school plyaing fields and leisure facilities are important to our wellbeing. Brinkburn School Community fields are essential to the survival of a lot of grass roots sport in South Shields. The fields are used by Football, Rugby, Athletics, Archery and more and are an essential resource to ensure local people of all ages have the opportunity to stay active and healthy. Support our campaign to save these playing fields; we need them now and as an investment in all of our futures.188 of 200 SignaturesCreated by David Donohue

Campaign for Outdoor Gym in Sir John McDougal Park, Westferry Road, E14The benefits and reasons to have public outdoor gyms in parks are well established. The outdoor public gyms enhance the local area, have positive impact on the public health locally and can improve the quality and versatility of its green and open spaces. However, the decision where to install these must be made in a transparent manner by the Mayor and the Council. Research conducted by Liverpool John Moores University found: • 75% or more of participants believed that outdoor gyms are easily accessible to them. • Beneficial for their health. • Enjoyable to use - 70% of participants find exercising outdoors is more beneficial for health than exercising indoors. 80% of participants find exercise more enjoyable when outdoors than indoors. In addition, outdoor public gyms in parks help in: 1. Cutting obesity - encouraging healthy living for all. 2. Providing free exercise equipment, enabling those who do not have the money for a gym membership to exercise. 3. Proving a family-friendly environment - a great way for parents to encourage their children to exercise. Even if children are too young to use the equipment themselves seeing adults working out in an environment that they are familiar with helps to make this seem like a natural part of daily life. As well as this, outdoor gym equipment in parks is an ideal way for families with older children to get out and exercise together. Cllr Maium Miah202 of 300 SignaturesCreated by Maium Miah Talukdar

Stop the demolition of Pinks Gym CarshaltonThe site is in a small village where many buildings are of historical interest and importance. The proposed buildings are not in keeping with the surrounding area. The plans on the High Street show demolition of single storey buildings to be replaced with four storey high buildings. The plans show a new modern building that would look very out of place in this part of the village. The plans also show extensive work at the back of the property. The impact of such a huge building project would have a detrimental effect on local residents and businesses. There would be disruption caused by heavy goods vehicles with limited access to the site on an already busy small High Street. The consultation period ends on 13/9/2017.
